Re: Jon and Rick Disappointed

Yes isn't JA, its the sum of its parts. Exactly. And the music. Rick stated on the 'Yesyears' documentary that he could see Yes continuing way into the future with different people playing the music long after the original band had gone. It's beginning to happen. Just a further development in the e...

Machine Messiah

The only Youtube footage so far, I think.

Some great out of tune audience singing.

And why's Lisa Simpson in the audience?

Re: best tour of the last 15 years

Best tour? Tricky. Watching them do 'Close to The Edge, 'Gates' (especially 'Gates'!!!) and 'Ritual' with the orchestra was something that will always stay with me. For atmosphere though, it has to be the Open Your Eyes Tour - after 7 years without Yes in the UK the band and crowd were so up for it ...

Re: TOP 5 Best Prog-Rock - Live Albums

In no specific order...

Yes - Yessongs
Genesis - Seconds Out
Jethro Tull - Live Bursting Out
Rush - Different Stages
Pink Floyd - Pulse

Nice to see the Porcupine Tree DVD getting a mention. Their forthcoming live album should be something special.

Re: Where are the musicians?

Loving the bass pedals mate. Very nice! I also like the look of your guitarist's set-up. I guess you must be planning on playing some biggish venues with a rig this big? Cheers. The pedals are Roland PK-5A MIDI pedals. They control an Oberheim Matrix 1000 synth unit in my rack to provide a rather h...

Re: What about RUSH?

I love them deeply. But those of you that know me know that already. For those of you that don't know me - Rush are without doubt my favourite band of all time. They still don't disappoint me either. 'Snakes And Arrows' was probably the best thing they've done in 20 years and the 4 gigs that I saw l...

Re: Police

The Police were the first band that I ever got into as a kid back in the late '70s/early '80s and I still have a huge soft spot for them. I should have gone to see them back in October last year at Manchester Arena - the night after I saw Rush there - but the gig was postponed due to Sting having a ...

Re: Where are the musicians?

Hello. My name is Dave and I play the Bass Guitar and Bass Pedals. Me and some of my old friends have just started writing again under the name of Rubicon. No singer as yet but plenty of prog-based musical ideas. Hopefully we'll have something for people to listen to in the not-so-distant future. Gr...
