Re: Dear Chris

Wanted to post this one out here, for those who don't frequent YF. There will be a memorial show Saturday night on WBZC in Philadelphia. You can stream it if you don't live in that area. Details below. Join the gagliarchives Saturday night at 10PM EDT for Program 1429 for a special 4 hour tribute to...

Re: Dear Chris

Scotty made a statement on Yesworld that Chris will be cremated this afternoon at 3 pm, Arizona time. Since they are not on daylight savings time, that correlates to 6 pm Eastern Time. My best friend and the love of my life Chris Squire will be cremated today in Scottsdale, Arizona at 3:00 pm. Howev...

Re: Dear Chris

Saw in my e-mail today that some folks had actually been over here - glad to see people here even under these terrible circumstances . . . :( I have my Sunday morning routine - turn on the stream for Hippie Radio here in Nashville @ 9:00 am, to listen to the weekly Beatles show, and while doing that...

Re: Some Yes what-ifs

That would be fantastic! I really miss all my Yesfriends. So many have abandoned the forums for Facebook :p

Sorry, but Facebook just doesn't lend itself well to good conversations, or meeting new people.

Re: Some Yes what-ifs

Yes, I've always wondered myself what would have happened if Pat had stayed around longer. I saw him with Yes 9 times and really liked him with the band, so I was looking forward to their next effort only to find that he was gone and Rick had rejoined. Also saw him solo back in the 90's and it was a...

Re: Some Yes what-ifs

Welcome Jedi Catt to Yestalk! And thanks for resurrecting some of these old threads - perhaps others will get the e-mail notifications and come around.

Re: spring cleaning

Good to see you, Tom! I got several e-mails today that folks were posting, so I came to check it out. I'll try to stop by more frequently . . . :) I was reading some old e-mail today from folks I've met through the Yes forums - I really miss all those people who have wandered away, and wish they wou...

Re: spring cleaning

Good to see you here Kota, even though it's been a few months now.

I really hate FB - it's not terrible for keeping up with people you already know, but really difficult to sustain a conversation about a topic among multiple people.

Hopefully others will come around . . . :)

Re: Does The Ladder really suck?

Glad you enjoyed it - as I posted earlier in this thread, I LOVE this album! Definitely in my Top 10 Yes albums although I'm not sure exactly where I'd rank it. I need to pull it out and put it back in the car . . . ;)

Re: Heaven and Earth - what does everyone [anyone] think?

Still don't have this one yet, so I've only heard the cuts played live. "Believe Again" translated well live, and I don't remember the name of the other one they played.

Re: UK/Europe Tour 2014

I've seen them twice now with JD - last year when they played CTTE, TYA, and GFTO, and this summer with a smattering of new music. I wasn't disappointed with JD - he does seem to really feel the music and makes it his own. The new songs translated well live, I thought, and were well-received by the ...

Re: LED Lights for STS9

Sounds very cool! I remember the days when Yes could be counted on to be at the forefront of lighting . . . their 70's displays were amazing! Anytime I saw something new, I'd think "Yes will have this at their next show, and it will be BETTER" . . . and it always was!

Re: The Silence of the Peacocks

Greenglade, where are you?

For those new to the forum, he lived in a town that was inhabited by MANY peacocks, that made a lot of noise, and if I recall correctly, one crashed through his storm door!

If anyone reading this knows Greenglade, tell him we're back up!

Re: Fly From Here - Any thoughts?

I liked FFH well enough when it was released, but haven't really listened to it since then. It was released right before Yesfans had a large gathering here in Nashville, so I bought a copy figuring many would not have heard it yet, and we played it in our suite at the gathering several times. As I r...

Re: Hello again

Sorry - I've been out of pocket for some time and just got Ed to reset my password this morning. It's good to see the familiar folks here, even if it's been a while since some of you posted. Much of my time has been spent job-hunting, since I was laid off from the State after 29 years back in June. ...

Re: spring cleaning

Agree that Into the Storm is the most "Yessy" track on FFH, IMO. It's not my favorite Yes album, nor is it my least favorite. It's listenable and I do so on occasion. I'm curious what Heaven and Earth will sound like and if JD's influence will be a major change, or not.

Re: spring cleaning

Thanks, Ed, for increasing the avatar size. I'll try again. And I've always been among the folks who visit both Yestalk and Yesfans. They are different sites, and both have their charms. However, on ANY site, you are going to have folks who disagree, and where Yes is concerned, unfortunately there i...

Re: At This Moment Part II

LOL AAA stands for American Automobile Association. For a yearly fee, they'll come tow you if you need it, break into your car for you if you lock your keys in, stuff like that. They also offer trip information - you can call them when you're planning a trip, and they'll tell you about special deals...
