Re: I need help writing a paper on The Beatles influence on Yes

I often wondered about Yes very 1st Album with the Beatles song they did. Forgot the name of it but it has a Day Tripper chord in the middle of it. I read somewhere that Jon was very influenced by The Beatles and Simon & Garf in those early days. Anyone else recall this?

Re: I need help writing a paper on The Beatles influence on Yes

Would having John Lennon's old drummer have anything to do with an influence?

Re: Sky sighting: Unusual falling star last night

Kind of. I'm poking fun of the Air Force explanation of Roswell along with throwing in a few items of wild claims about the event in for good measure. I hope the people that know Roswell will get the humor. My firiends liked it.

Re: Sky sighting: Unusual falling star last night

You and I seem to have a lot in common. I too had a similar sighting around the same time frame (1978) but was nothing spectacular. I also listen to CoastToCoast in fact I subscribe to it. I had one of my animations featured on their web site. That was a thrill to me. I too don't understand how reli...

Re: Sky sighting: Unusual falling star last night

God is it funny running across this thread. I had a thread going on here a quite few years ago on UFOs. It was just a light discussion to start with where I associated it to the song Arriving UFO. It got really nasty near the end with people'e religion etc. etc. I guess it had no business being on a...

Re: Mostly Autumn, Glass Shadows

I buy most of my imports from here; http://synphonic.8m.com/catalogs-cds.htm Amazon is way too much money for their imports! Of course I made an exception on this because I thought it was cool to buy right from the band's website. I enjoy it very much. I still like Last Bright Light more but I've go...

Re: Mostly Autumn, Glass Shadows

You have to go to the third page of Amazon Mostly Autumn items. Amazon is not too sharp. LOL

Re: Mostly Autumn, Glass Shadows

There are three members on here including myself that bought it right from Mostly Autumn website. A special preorder before it comes out. It was about $60 but included a rare DVD showing them recording. I see it's now on Amazon as of this week for a June date release. Your cheapest price would be th...

Re: The Reasoning

I received Mostly Autumn order in the mail today. I hope that Yesiree Bob has also. After one listen I can say that I like it. I still don't think it comes close to Last Bright Light which is still my favorite but I like what I hear much more than the last two releases. Some of it seems very low key...

Re: The Reasoning

This is amazing. I too have the new Mostly Autumn pre-ordered from their web site. I bet Ed gets it first. I also love Karnataka & Reasoning. So I wonder if I shoud order this Panic Room? I guess I'll have to find some sound samples some where.

Re: Irish Folk Singer Uses Yes 1st LP Cover in Video

I received a personal response; Hello, The only connection to Yes is that the early line-up of Mellow Candle, four of us, went to see Yes in Dublin circa 1969. They were the bottom of the bill to Emmerson, Lake & Palmer and the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band. We'd heard about Yes. Anyhow, it was an afternoon...

Re: Irish Folk Singer Uses Yes 1st LP Cover in Video

I just added a comment to the video. Alison appears to be responding to post. I asked about the Yes Album cover in the video. We'll see if she answers.

BTW I just received Mellow Candle in the mail. I enjoy it very much. Great CD. If you're curious, read the reviews out there.

Irish Folk Singer Uses Yes 1st LP Cover in Video

Her name is Alison O’Donnell. She was in a band called Mellow Candle in the 70s when she was in her teens. They only had one album and it's considered a prog classic now days called Swaddling Songs. What I could hear as sound samples it's acrosss between Renaissance and Yes but very folky. Some revi...

Re: Renaissance on YouTube

I see you recently put three videos on YouTube. Thanks so much they were very much appreciated. I saw them in the early 80s here in Detroit. Not sure what year but my guess is 82-83.

Re: Renaissance on YouTube

Thanks so much. I will check that out tonight. I just bought her live DVD and I love it. Did you see the Annie angel thread under YesTalk on this site? I was so surprised to see Patrick Moraz name on it that I had to share it.

Re: Patrick Moraz Spots Angel Behind Annie Haslam

I'm not a firm believer of angels either because I've had no experiences. I was only relaying what I heard and read. But I'll tell you that I'm convinced that she has had some experiences just by the way she talks about them. In her mind they do exist. Considering not only how extrodinary her singin...

Patrick Moraz Spots Angel Behind Annie Haslam

What a wild story!!! I wish I could see the photo. Tell me a little bit about your relationship with angels. I believe I have always be interested in angels but not to the extent that I am now. I talk to them when I need guidance and feel their presence at that moment. When I become warm and overwhe...

Re: Renaissance

What a weird coincidence! First I didn't know you started a thread here, otherwise I would have put the YouTube link here. Another coincidence is that I have Annie Haslam DVD on order right now. I recently got a Magenta CD with her as guest vocalist. Thanks so much. Great write up.
