I love bringing this thread back from the dead...hee hee hee...

I totally agree, psychopomp! I feel the same way...Endless Dream is still one of their best "emotional" songs...The instrumentation is so great...

Good to see you're still around, Ed...I think you've definitely been absent longer than me, and I feel like I've been gone for a LONG time! As Dahni said, from one absentee to another: Welcome back.

Squire is simply unique. The sheer greatness is evident in Long Distance Runaround, The Fish, Heart of the Sunrise, On the Silent Wings of Freedom, Does it Really Happen?, etc....His picking technique, forefront playing, and rapid, complex bass lines are just amazing, innovative, and so refreshing. ...

Yes, I'm back...most probably didn't notice. Life's been crazy busy...so going on the forums has taken a back seat to the more important things in life. But it's all Good Times! "Chan-ges!" I'll be posting here and there...It's good to be back. Most of you know my stance on the great Trevor Rabin. Y...

So...in our mixed-up society, fame equals talent? Sad...of course, this is a radical situation, but it's still very ironic. Reminds of that story about Charlie Chaplin: There was a Charlie Chaplin look-alike contest, and he decided to be funny and enter as himself, and he still lost to someone else ...

I have to agree about the New Age crap. Despite actually appreciating some of the tunes on OYE, I think his lyrics were just cheesy sometimes...almost like no thought went into them...Jon sounds so much more passionate when he's singing the lyrics of the old days...Of course, the man's getting older...

Good thoughts. I would love to see a mix as well...if they can get together something REALLY good. Nobody wants a 20 min. mediocre opus. But if they CAN do something like Close to the Edge or Endless Dream, go for it. And I would LOVE to hear more 10 min. epics. AYAI, HOTS, Siberian Khatru, Machine ...

I have to agree that Rick has stated that YES needs him a lot more than he needs IT. But recently he *has* talked about how he is glad to be back with the band, and is looking forward to working in it again...
