Re: Ever MET Anyone Famous??

Not a big shocker... seems like a vast majority of glam/hair metal bands have a collective stick in their tucchus. Methinks it might be all the drugs :D .

As for my list, what can I say? It helps to have friends who get lucky with radio station giveaways.

Re: Ever MET Anyone Famous??

Not an overly lengthy list, but a decent one. Mostly musicians. John McCain The boys of Yes, excluding Alan Dave Mustaine (Megadeth, he's an ass) The Dillinger Escape Plan Crossbreed Jeffrey Nothing (Mushroomhead) Sebastian Bach (Skid Row, also an ass) Christina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) Gary Hoey John ...

Re: What are you listening to when you log in here?

Rihanna's new one "Shut Up And Drive"... yummmm her voice is insane. :D She's coming out with her own line of umbrellas in honor of her last huge hit. :p That single you speak of is catchy as hell. I prefer the remixes but Umbrella itself is quite a number. Also, Tribute, good on ya with the Tool a...

I've got quite a few stories of his under my belt, but I have yet to read that one. So far of all I've read, The Shadow Over Innsmouth is definitely my favorite.

Re: What are you listening to when you log in here?

NP: Necrophagist - Seven from the album "Epitaph".

This band probably pulls off some of the weirdest time changes of any band ever... one song, can't remember which at the moment, goes from 11/16 to 4/4 to 9/8 to 13/8 in a 45 second period, but still maintains a flowing rhythm.

Re: Lyrics You Love

I particularly like these lyrics from " Arcanas Tenebrae / Dominate " by Adagio. They make reference to Yog-Sothot, an H.P. Lovecraft creation, which absolutely enthralls me as he is my favorite author... even if he was a bit of a racist scumbag. I see the power in the eye I see the evil lying there...

It's not really Slayer per se, but a MIDI version from a level in Doom that I'm currently on... it's surprising how faithful the MIDI is to the actual song :D .

"I know where the trust fund is!" Heh, I'm well versed in Mr. Williams' work. I even have his Met performance on CD, and it's every bit as hilarious as anything he's done to date. Re: The Prodigal Son Hath Returned

I think Robin Williams put it best. "I want to do everything for my kid. Work with him. Raise him. Nourish him. Spend time with him. And 16 years from now, he's going to do to me what I did to my father. He's going to walk right up to me, look me right in the eye, and go, 'God, Dad, you're f***ed.'"...

Re: Your favorite underrated gem of an album?

I'm going with "Transistor" by 311. Normally, when one speaks of 311, 3 things come to mind: "Amber", their cover of The Cure's "Love Song", and their multi-platinum eponymous album, dubbed the "Blue Album". However, no one outside of the "Excitable Ones", 311's grassroots fan base really mentions T...

Re: Dream Theater, Systematic Chaos

I have yet to pick this one up (which I should be punching myself for, being the DT die-hard that I am), but I heard Constant Motion and was very impressed. In my mind, nothing can touch Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and Train of Thought, but nothing they put out can disappoint me.

The Prodigal Son Hath Returned

Well hello there... Again... For the, uh... 3rd time, I believe? For those who have an understandable lapse in memory (after all, I've been away for 3 long years), I'm N2yes' pain-in-the-ass of a son. Out of late night boredom, my dad's suggestion, and one too many cans of a rather potent energy dri...
