I've been hearing about SOAD, but haven't heard them - YET. I read a review likening them to Frank Zappa, and I LOVE Zappa, so I'm definitely looking forward to hearing them! WHOA! I dunno...I'd say whoever did that review had a leadear...or a deadear. I guess there is a comparison to bed made....

After Relayer: A Solo Project

[|)] Figuring how I'm so lazy, I decided to review all of the post-Relayer albums, all of which I find very interesting and revealing, in one place. First, "Fish Out of Water" is a fantastic solo album. It was what I expected from Squire, but "Silently Falling" is very beautiful. I had hear...

Put in simple Brit terms it's a BLOODY GOOD ALBUM ! and if you knock it i will come to your house and bite your bum :p In general, after reading through the posts, I felt that Doogee's sentiment reflected my own quite well. The Ladder contains many of Yes' sounds, and I think its a good representat...

There's just WAY too many to name, but if I had to choose one, I'd have to go with THE FISH (Schindleria Praematurus) for the obvious reasons... [:f3] That's a fun song, but I really like "Can You Imagine" from Magnification the best, in the way of Squire songs. My favorite Yessong ...

OOOO, the bridge protects the tree of life, or Yggdrasil. You've definitely tapped into Dean's style, Andersong. My interpretation of this would be that life exists within the protection of connections between all things. But that might be the ecologist and romantic in me speaking :o

Greetings to you all, I've been roundabout the other Yes forums for a while, this is my first time here. As an English Lit graduate and a student of Yes things and the Romantic poets, it has always struck me how 'Leaves of Green' could so easily have come from the pen of William Blake. All the Blak...

With all due respect to Mr. White, (I too agree that in the long run Alan was an excellent choice for Yes) but let's look at what Bruford did after leaving Yes for "greener pastures". Larks' Tonguess in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black, USA (Live Album) and Red. I would argue that Bill hardly "limit...

Self expression wise, I think Yes at were at thier groundbreaking best with Bill Bruford behind the drums which led to irreconcilable differences, from a commercial success stance I think Yes were at the top of thier commercial success with Trevor Rabin, which also led to irreconcilable differences...

will do, qman. Hey, speaking of reviews, do we have a thread, topic, or forum in which we rate Yes' work...ya know, where people come in, give a number 1-10, the computer automatically averages it with everybody else's feedback, and then you can give your reasons why you reviewed it that way? I thin...

[color=indigo]I, too, have always been impressed by the dignity of Yes that you speak of, Serynn, and appreciated the fact that their lifestyle was atypical of the rock and roll one - at least as far as any sexual exploits went. http://www.eclipserecords.com/other/rpbl3693_192.gif My two above are jazz, or perhaps more to the point, fusion. Coryell and Mouzon grab into funk and jazz and the whole album is really diverse; I'd go as far as to say there's something for everyone on that album. Mahavishnu Orchestra/ McLaughlin ...

Thanks, qman! I figured that had to be a Jon-thing. :dazzler1: I just ordered Ramshackled earlier today. My Dad (who introduced me to Yes) has been goin on and on about having me get it.
