Manchester, despite living 5 miles from the NEC. I feel the journey increases the anticipation (and my girlfriend lives in Liverpool...)

Picked this up yesterday - it really is very, very good. Don't be put off by the death metal grunting - there really isn't much of it. The vocals on this album are all excellent, and the music is progtastic. Nice to hear a prog story based around real life events rather than the usual fantasy too.

He was really rocking on tour with Remedy, and was playing with LOTS of gain - I hope he carries on in the same vein. I'm sure it makes a difference not going into the tour 'cold' as well.

Live box set - Bad News

Found this on the DPRP site:- Yes, Where are they now? reports that the Yes 3CD career spanning live set that Rhino Records was to release this summer has been delayed until 2005. The project has entered dire waters now that David McLees, the Rhino operative who oversaw the ...

I read somewhere that turning off the motors causes the pitch to drop, and there is another button that can be pressed that causes the motors to speed up thus bending the pitch up. Apparently these are recognised Hammond techniques (although I am no expert in the matter)

Ah yes, the live box set...Anyone know whether there may be some kind of DVD with this? - That would be VERY nice!

I think I read on NFTE that the re\son BG wasn't included in the remasters is because there just wasn't enough extra material in existence to make it worthwhile.

The DVD is being recorded in Newcastle in a couple of weeks time - everything should be running smoothly by then. Sadly I won't be there...(and I missed making Yesspeak by 1 row when the camera pans round inside the Liverpool big top too!)

Steve Howe's Remedy - Live Review

Well, what a night - just got back from the opening night of the Remedy European tour and what fun it was. Steve was a little nervous at first but soon was obviously having fun, jumping up, sticking his leg out, and really getting down to some fabulous guitar with his band. They opened with 'Small A...

The Tangent - Second Album Details

I was just taking a look at http://www.thetangent.org and they have some information about work on the second Tangent album. If it's half as good as "The Music that Died Alone" it will be worth keeping an eye on. Especially considering the description of the fourth and final track:- "and the closing...

Symphony X rock!!! Watch out for 'The Odyssey' - all 25 minutes of it, and 'Accolade II' - both fantastic tracks. It has some really 'heavy' stuff on it too. It also comes with the added benefit of the 'InsideOut' label catalogue inside the front cover. If nothing else check http://www.insideout.de ...

Comparing Wakeman and Moraz is like comparing Howe and Rabin, both totally different but both absolute masters of their craft. I love them both. Roundabout - 1988 I'd seen a review of TYA in the influences section in the free 'Making Music' magazine you used to get in music shops in the UK - the review made it sound pretty cool (!). I went down my local record store and they didn't have TYA but they had Fragile so I got that instead. The org...

Looking at the stage set pictures on Yesworld it seems to me that they could be doing Ritual again - It looks as if it is set up to have drums built in either side of Alan for Chris and Jon to play iin the percussion section.

According to http://home.att.net/~yesguitar/howesetup.html it is a '52. Not a reissue. I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that he had a really odd pickup combination in it - something 'Gibsony' but that might be just my imagination.
