I only have Pawn Hearts (on vinyl) wich from all sources was claimed to be a masterwork, so I bought that one, recently, and it is really a great album, the band reminds me of King Crimson with their dark tone. But I havn't heard much else, except the songs from the Progarchives site.

I don't know the value of the Pound/Dollar, but don't look forward to it, Chris. It takes years to get used to, and where they can, they take advantage of it Latest news here is that they will try to make new CDs 10 and DVDs 20. That means the CDs are around the same price as LPs were at the end of ...

1. Rush - Permanent Waves (1980) The first album of the decade (released officially January 1st 1980) may also be the best. My No.1 album by my No.1 band. Every song is a big classic, and though the album is a bit short, it is perfect. Favs: Natural science, Jacob's Ladder, Freewill, Different strin...

I believe my first CD that I bought myself, was Nirvana's 'Nevermind'. It was either the same year Cobain commited suicide or the year after (can't recall exactly). A friend of mine (wich I later formed my first band with and played lots of Nirvana covers) was into Nirvana already and he played some...

Yes, you should pick up 'Talk'. It's a superb album. IMO the best album since Drama, and they never topped it since. (they came close with Keys I and II, though)

And about GFTO vs. Parallels, yeah I think the latter is the best song of the two, specially the version on Yesshows.

It's definitly one of their weaker tracks. 'Richard' should have been on it, I think that song was also recorded for Tormato but never used for it.

It's one of my least fav Yes albums (along with OYE), but there are some moments. Holy Lamb is a great song, but as said, ends way to early and for me the other highlight is Final Eyes. SHAL is also a YesWest classic in my book. But thats really all there is. I don't particularly like the more 'comm...

It is pricey indeed. I'll wait til the price drops before I'll get it. It's around
26 Euro.
As I recall, Symphonic wasn't even that expensive.

I always wear my Porcupine Tree: In Absentia T-shirt when going to concerts. A little extra advertising can't hurt, I think. From all those thousands of people I only got 1 single comment on it. (positive ofcourse, at a Dream Theater concert on the last tour)

Sure Endless Dream is a great song, and they did some great other longer pieces (Machine Messiah, Minddrive, In the presence, Homeworld), Nothing is in the same class as Awaken, I think.

I read a review of Yes at the Arrow Rock festival here in Holland, wich said (on the YesWest tracks :) Steve Howe is still Steve Howe and not Trevor Rabin. Well, it's my 2nd fav. after CTTE. There is no such thing as a weak moment on this one. Every track is a 100% classic. 2 acoustic-like songs, 2 rock-out songs and the spectacular epic Awaken, specially the 2nd part of this song (from the harp section onwards) is extremely good. A perfect album. They...
