Magenta New CD

Hi, don't know if there are any Magenta fans at Yestalk. But you should check them out they are very Yes-like at times and an awesome band. Check out http://www.magenta-web.com for a 12 minute download from the soon to be released new CD. Their guitarist is from the Steve Howe school where musicalit...

Hi,

There's a new drummer, and whilst it took him a while to get going, I find him to be a big improvement; particularly live.

Indeed a very fine album. Their best IMHO. In some ways its an album of two halves but with a theme running through it, almost a concept. There is a darker gothic heavier feel to the album. The album begins with shorter more mainstream tracks, with a buetiful whimsical Genesis like track in between....

Many thanks for the sugestions. Christmass is not too far away so I think I'll drop some hints about the new live DVD. In the meantime "6 degrees.." sounds a great next stop as well as "Images...". To be honest I am still getting me head around Metropolis 2...simply amazing. What are "The Liquid Ten...

Beginners guide to Dream Theater

I've never been a fan of pure metal, however having read about Dream Theater at Yestalk I decided to take the plunge and bought Metroplis PT2: Scenes from a memory. I can honestly say its one of the most awesome slices of prog I have ever heard. Brilliant concept, awesome playing and riffing. Can an...

Dark Matter IQ

Wow, has anyone else got hold of a pre-ordered copy of Dark Matter by IQ. Its superb, certainly their best offering to date. The sound is awash with church organ, hammond, and mellotrons. Peter Nicholls has never sung better and his lyrics make sense! In fact the entire band have pushed out the limi...

Wow. One of the best prog albums in recent years. Potentially one of the best ever!
