Re: David Bowie.

Great thread and to think, I overlooked this incredible talent. There is so much to be said...God knows. I'm not sure where to even start, but you were ever-so-wise to initiate it, Richard. Personally, I think he got better and better as the years passed. From the bizarre wildness of Ziggy to the ma...

Re: Holy Rollers and Music: Less Crap--More Filling

Having reached well beyond the number of hits on this thread I ever expected. 10,000 plus is far too many. Will start a new thread....how many installments now?

Re: Led Zeppelin tour: will they, won't they?

I have always been the most loyal of the loyal when it comes to Zeppelin, but I fear Robert feels his age and also that the legend has now been put to rest...at least in his mind. Still, Jonesy and Jimmy have been re-energized and Jason has learned so much, why not? Perhaps, not as Zeppelin, but the...

Re: Any fans of Al Di Meola?

Don't care for his music, really, but I must admit, I respect his skill. He is a tremendously technical player and blazingly fast...and clean, too!

Re: Board update

I find this to be one helluva shot in the arm, Ed! You are to be commended in the highest! Good to see ya, sir and it's great to be back. I've had far too many computer access problems since I relocated to Maine. They're all over now! Look out!!

Re: Yessong Of The Week: Machine Messiah.

"Machine Messiah" is a very good tune, but when compared to the power generated by "Tempus Fugit", it nearly collapses.

Re: Squire's Response.

I've mentioned this before, but I have always wondered why someone like Max Bacon ( who has a great voice---GTR ) has never been considered...or has he? This man would work well in Jon's absence. If i were Jon, I too, would be slightly offended if his intentions were to come back and apparently they...

All should be much better now. Ed, was away but has managed to dispose of the ghost in the machine. Sorry for the hiatus, but it was a technical thing needed to resolve. All is good!

Re: U2.

I'm still a big fan of THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE.....love that number, "A Sort of Homecoming"...but, Bono has somehow, through the adoration of prebuscent fans, I guess, climbed the ladder of social heirachy enabling him to speak for the masses. He doesn't speak for me. U2 has sort of blown it for me. ...

Re: YES-What's Going On?

I was under the impression that according to Mr. Welch, who was ever in the band at the time shared rightful ownership of the name. Well, Steve is touring with Asia and since Chris isn't with anyone right now and perhaps we can assume since Alan has left Circa, it would seem that Chris and Alan have...

Re: Alan White current status

Strictly hypothetical mind you, but if they wanted the ultimate in female voices that could cover the whole spectrum, that would have to be Ann Wilson. Lauper or Bjork.....yuck!

Re: Yessong Of The Week: Endless Dream

I love the way it starts ( that waterfall effect on the keys ) only to be followed by Alan's earth-shaking drums which are simply so powerful that it gives this song a force, one that almost defies description. Then...it stops only to move onto another passage with yet another on its heels. Still, t...

Re: Yessong of the week parallels.

No way was I going to skip out on this one. From Rick's unique keyboard beginning to Chris' rolling thunderous bass; what an intro! Jon's singing here is so appealing. I often use this piece as an intro to YES music never heard by hopeful fans and I have yet to fail. They all love it! I believe YES ...

Re: Yessong of the week "Awaken"

Next to "Soon", by far my 2nd favorite tune by YES of all time. So brilliantly composed with all the changes and dynamics...it's simply incredible! These two songs represent the essence of YES to me. Heavenly ascension every time. I could so easily go into a lengthy dissertation with respect to each...

Re: Yes Collaboration

As much as I respect you, Chris, I couldn't see it happening. Yes music should never be 'tainted' by the styles of another. No matter how they say it could be controlled and the true YES music still ring out, it can't be true; listen to Rabin and his 'incidental' influence. Hell, it changed YES musi...
