Re: Yessong Of The Week: Yours Is No Disgrace.

I had first been turned on to YES via FRAGILE. so I had to back up one after listening to the likes of "Roundabout" and "Heart of the Sunrise ". I was already a rabid fan by this time and was ready for anything they had out or were going to put out. I was so enthralled by Chris' unique bass lines, I...

Re: U2.

Personally, I can't get enough of THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE. I fell goose bumps every time I hear. "A Sort of Homecoming", certainly one of their favs for me. However. I did sense a downturn of sorts after JOSHUA TREE. Bono's head is bigger than the cosmos. Still, they had their day and I am glad you i...

Re: Why Is Syn Such A Dirty Word At Yesfans?

Personally, I found nothing wrong with Richard's questioning. I have seen so much worse going on at other forums, this actually makes me laugh. This forum remains open to discussion on pretty much any topic. I wouldn't even go so far as to call this a 'heated' discussion. If it remains intact in its...

Re: Steve Howe: King Of The Fusion Guitarists?

I personally think Steve could do it, but not well. When I look at the likes of McLaughlin and Dimeola, he doesn't hold up...it's not his style. Alot of changes would have to take place. I don't see that happening.

You overstepped the boundary, GF. You resorted to abusive language to another member. I tolerated this thread as long as I could. Consider yourself banned and this forum locked!

Re: Common Yessongs you DON"T want dropped from this tour

"Awaken" forever! "Roundabout"...too many times. "To Be Over" would be a nice change. Don't wish for them to be sending out any subtle signals with that one, though!

Re: The Doors

No disrespect intended, Y-Bob, but I never cared for them. This would perhaps, lie behind their exclusion on my part. However, I realize their fan base was large at one time, so I commend you for bringing it up!

Re: George Harrison - The Quiet one

George was always my favorite. Listening to the self-centered diatribes of John Lennon ( R.I.P. ) was, at times, too much. Paul, with his silly little love songs...he's so much better than that. Ringo, well, he's the funny one and a few cuts are really good. For George, "What is Life" and "Something...

Noam Chomsky's work in the linguistic realm was required reading while I was in school. His political views approach those of an anarchist. Smart man,. though.

Re: Politics in the Year 2008

10 More Greenglade Points awarded to Yesman. OK, see Yesman, that is a difficult thing to do, refine your intellect to the point where you can see the irony....but it did have a point--and refine your perception to the point where you can take life and its loudmouths with a grain of salt , not lite...

That is exactly right, Chris. ALL parties need to exercise a bit of restraint for this is the sort of discussion that could easily go south if we don't remain civil.

Re: Invite to the Yes Chat (Thursday's)

Well it's a different thing really. I remember another Yes discussion board looking to get their chat going to no avail. The appealing thing about the DA or any prog rock radio chat is that there is music to discuss, with a live DJ interacting, giving Yes news, making comments and playing requests....

Re: Should Jon take a stand like Roger Waters at Coachella Fesival?

Careful, GF. If I stand corrected, I think you may have used the term a page or two back. So far, this 'debate' has been point vs. counterpoint. However, I would warn against any further name-calling by any party. I am watching as this discussion evolves. Please exercise caution. Thank you. Carry on.

Re: Should Jon take a stand like Roger Waters at Coachella Fesival?

Yeah, granted some of those are distorted statements. Maybe he needs to refine them. :jestera: What I admired was the spirt of rebellion, the spirit of inquiry, instead of just aquiescing like most Americans , dumb sheep led by CNN, Fox, etc. I liked his attitude. But, it doesn't work in public dis...

GF, be it known that this is your opinion, one which you are entitled to express openly. However, for the record, I am not ignorant and I find his remarks replete with lies and distortions as do many Americans who also are not ignorant.
