Good luck with your venture Ray. I saw a smilar thread on Yesfans but haven't got round to making any suggestions.

Personally I like the name Relayer. It was my initial choice for my tribute band but we then decided it might not have the same resounding ring as the name we eventually chose - Yep.

Plus, it was easy to adapt existing logos etc to our name in order to get a high profile visual element.

Something worth considering maybe when you make your choice.

But good luck with it.

Dave.

I agree with the Doctor, Relayer is fine choice, I would also suggest Tempus Fugit.

Hmmmmm, everyone on the "Yesfans" website is suggesting the name "Soundchaser."

It looks like there is already a band out there with that name.... Granted, they are not playing music anything like YES would play....

But, you can check out what they sound like right here:

Good luck with your searching.... :)

If you're named Soundchaser, shouldn't you play Soundchaser?

"Hi, we're a Yes Tribute band called Soundchaser, but we don't play that song".

Hmmm ...

I wonder how Yes' "Soundchaser" would go over at a wedding!

Dude I just moved away from Tucson and I'm the biggest Yeshead ever. :(
And I do think very well.... that the song might take you silently...

I'd have loved it.

My parents, relations and friends? Less keen methinks.

Mind you they did like hearing Awaken (from the middle section to end end) in the Church as part of the ceremony. Ahhh happy day. . . .(my wife tells me to say ;) )

Imagine how you could have choreographed the walk down the aisle to Sound Chaser?

But you had Awaken playing! That is really nice, Dave. :)

It would definitely have been very 'performance art' I think. Quite funny to behold. CHA-CHA-CHA, CHA CHA [pose]

Aye, it was wonderful RL. My local church is really impressive -- kind of a small cathedral really -- and I set the CD up to fade in as we signed the register (the 10-15 mins of Awaken was ideal as we did the paperwork). And to hear Rick's expansive church organ playing in such a magnificant setting was amazing and inspiring. Even our self-professed, Yes-hating friends were impressed and didn't realise it was even Yes.

On another occasion I was lucky enough to play Gates of Delirium (Yesshows) to some friends through a 2,000 watt PA system running very loud! THe power was awesome and when Steve's pedal steel ghosted in for Soon, ooohhhh, orgasmic! Spine-tingling stuff. I turned a few more people onto Yes that day too.
