Message Quoting

Message Quoting

Postby Ed Schaum » Thu Dec 05, 2002 8:17 am

It's very easy to quote a message when you reply to it.

On the left side of every message there are 2 choices for replying:
Reply
and

If you select "Reply with Quote", the message you are answering will be...quoted. That means it will be

1. indented
2. surrounded on top and bottom by horizontal bars
3. preceded by a small bold caption that reads "username wrote:"

You can also insert your own quotes if you want to break a message up into parts, or if you want to quote multiple messages. Simply click the quote button on the message bar. That's the button with the graphic of a piece of paper and a red arrow. Pressing that will insert open and close quote commands. You can then insert quoted text in between the commands.

Members are asked NOT to make up their own quoting schemes, it makes it confusing when people have to figure out a new message format every few messages.

If you need help with this feature, feel free to ask here.
