I'm new here

Postby Yesmam » Mon Sep 03, 2001 10:11 pm

Hi, I'm Yesmam and I'm new here. Got my computer a few months ago and have been searching the web for Yes fans and I FINALLY found you! Have I found a home? I found one other Yes forum but there doesn't seem to be much posting going on there. I don't claim to know as much about the band as a lot of you do, but am excited about learning. I've been a Yes fan for aobut the last 10 yrs., never really listened to them, then when my husband and I were dating, he took me to see them and I have been hooked ever since. That concert was magical. I have been to see them every time they come to my area, they didn't even come close to me for the Symphonic tour this year, so I haven't got my Yes fix for 2001. So, I will wait till their next album is released. I don't know what I would do without Yes music in my life now, it has gotten me through so many things in the past few years, it lifts me up and makes me feel like there are reasons to live when life gets me down. I have a Yes tattoo on my leg, and had a morning glory tattooed across the top of my chest, when people ask me about them and I explain, they always say, "Oh yeah, that band from the 70s, I always did like Roundabout", I just smile and nod my head.

Thanks, I've been spending the morning crusing the site and reading the posts, like to familiarize myself with everyone before I start posting replies. Love the emoticons on here!

Whew, pretty soon I'm gonna need a program just to keep track of who's who!

Hi there, yesmam, a big welcome to you!!! I can relate to what you are saying very well... when I met Deb, she had no idea who Yes was. All it took was a couple of tunes while out in the car driving around, and I clinched it with great seats for the Union tour. She was hooked.

Soon after that, The Meeting was our wedding song, played during the vows, echoing through the cave we got married in!

HI YESMAM! I was hooked many moons ago and it's great to welcome another kindred spirit to the YesTALK forum. I'm a rookie myself but am pleased to say it's a great community of people. Just wish I didn't have the problem of being in the UK and eight hours away so I miss a lot of the action. Can only log on occasionally, but am always enlightened and uplifted by the wealth of support the band enjoys. Hope you enjoy it here too.

Yours

Hi there! I'm a new kid in town myself. Like you, I was scouring the web looking for these people. I knew they had to be out there somewhere. YEStalk is going to be my home from now on (if they don't throw me out the front door that is?) Look forward to discussions with you.

Welcome Yesmam,

I have no doubt you'll be here a long time. There are lots of topics that need your input, and lots of views to Open Your Eyes about what Yes means to everyone else. I expect absolute agreement with everything I say, as I am Yes' number one fan, and on a side note, I am also the center of the universe. You can call me Jack.

Hi Yesmam and welcome on board. I'm new around here too, but one thing that I've found out is that any view that you have on any aspect of Yes, then there's sure to be someone out there with the opposite view. Still, makes for lively discussions doesn't it. By the way, if you don't mind me asking, which version of the Yes logo did you go for with the tattoo! or!

Hi Yesmam!
I think you'll find that almost everyone here will be very welcoming. I think Yes fans are unique in that we all feel unified as one ("Everyone is one, and all the pieces fit together"...) because of the message in Yesmusic. Now, that doesn't mean we all agree 100% on everything (that would make for a very BORING discussion forum, wouldn't it), but I think you'll find we are very courteous and understanding even in our disagreements. Also, for the most part, it's refreshing to hear other peoples opinions. So, in short, welcome again and don't be shy about voicing your opinions.

Thank you, thank you, thank you all for the rousing welcome, I am most impressed (and kinda tickled too!). In reply to Sad Preacher, my tattoo is the , I have it on my right calf. The story goes, I took a Yes CD into the tattoo shop and asked the guy, could he do this? He wanted to outline it with black and I wouldn't let him, because thats NOT how it was pictured on the CD. In 20 yrs. of tattoo experience, he's never done one outlined in anything other then black, so they had to take a picture of it. I would lke to get the on the back of my neck sometime soon. Does anyone else here have Yes or anything pertaining to Yes tattooed on themselves? One thing that I ommitted to tell you before is that I have a strange sense of humor, Not mean or anything, I notice that you all seem to like to laugh also, I think we'll have a good time together.

This is kind of funny actually, after I had the Yessongs picture painted on the back of my denim jacket at age 17 the woman asked me if I wanted a tattoo. I remember mentioning it to my Dad who said that I would regret it when I was thirty and had forgotten all about Yes!!!

I'd just about forgotten that until now . . . pretty funny really seeing as thirty is now considerably more forgotten than Yes!

Anyway, thanks for sparking the memory Yesmam and welcome.

Simon.

How do, Yes ma'am! Pull up a chair (one without one of our cats on it), and make yourself at home. Refreshments will be coming around, but you may prefer the plain brownies. . .

I may be lucky, but I found this place right after I got my 'puter. I had lots to say then, and they still haven't managed to shut me up.

Y'know, I have been thinking about a Yes tattoo myself, but haven't taken the plunge yet. Could you post a pic of the tat for your icon picture--that would be tres chic!

And my sense of humour is no stranger than jackalz . . .

Welcome to YESTALK YESMAM. I'am very much looking forward to examples of your strange sense of humour. Some people say I have a strange s.o.h but it seems quite normal to me, well it was the last time I looked.

Yesmam,
I met you on the Yeshoo forum! Don't know if you read my reply there, but welcome HERE! I know you'll enjoy this forum. A lot of great people here with interesting discussions!
I've been a Yes fan since 1972. I attended my first concert when my husband took me to the CTTE concert, one of our first dates!
Happy posting!
