Found a map today showing the floodplains in Nashville. My house is NOT in the "100-year floodplain", but half of it IS in the "500-year floodplain". I guess that theoretically means we should have another one of THESE for 500 years!
However, according to the map, we've had TWO "100-year floods" during the last 50 years, so I don't know how accurate the map is . . .
