Rick on Solo Tour

Postby Yessong » Thu Oct 31, 2002 7:26 am

I got a call from a local venue asking my opinion if Rick could sell 1,500 seats as a solo act on Long Island. Seems he's planning a tour and looking for small venues. Guess he's killing time till next Yes record.

What great news - I hope it really happens!!
I had the pleasure of seeeing (and meeting) Rick when he toured his "Silent Nights" album in 1985. This was at a small club in New Jersey - couldn't have held more than a few hundred. Unforgettable night!
Definitely keeping my eyes open on this one. <img src=pix/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=pix/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

RICK: PLEASE COME TO THE RYMAN, IT USED TO BE A CHURCH BY THE WAY. IT STILL HAS THE PEWS (WARNING: DON'T SPILL A BEER ON THEM OR 20 OTHERS GET TO SIT IN IT) Seriously, The Ryman would be a perfect venue for a solo performance and if you need other musicans locally we have a few good ones around "Music City"<font face='Papyrus'></font id='Papyrus'><font color=blue></font id=blue>

All I can say guys is that if your get the chance to see Rick in this kind of setting go. It's great not just to see him play but to hear his "Wonderous Stories" too. I've seen him a few times in settings even more intimate (3-400) and it's a superb night out.

Simon.
