I've Seen All Old People

Postby tardistraveler » Mon Feb 02, 2004 8:23 am

Well, I just left the chat room, where we were theorizing about what songs Yes might play as they get older.

At the recent Jon Anderson tour in Atlanta, someone asked him how long he planned to continue touring. He responded that he hoped to continue touring until he was at least 100!

So, while we're in our 80's and 90's watching Yes' 70th anniversary tour - what will it be like? How will their music change to fit their (and our) advancing age?

Some suggested songs on chat:

Perpetual Underwear Change
I'm Shuffling
Owner of A Lonely Pacemaker
Going for the Toilet

Can you think of more? Have some fun here!

I Can't See You
A Denture
The Trying to Remembering
The Ancient
To Be Over the Hill

In concert, they will have to crank it up really loud so we can hear it. And the CDs will have to have <font size=4>large print</font id=size4>.

That was hilarious, tardis! What a clever bunch of minds in there earlier! Yessireebob had a hilarious continuation of "I've Seen All Old People...":
"I've seen all old people use Ben-Gay each day, so satisfied they're on their way" (or something very close)! <img src=pix/jestera.gif border=0 align=middle>
Independently Whole - good ones! I thought of "A Denture" also! Great minds...
"The Ancient" - of course, perfect!

Some more from chat - wish I could remember them all:

Tempus Forget
5X Magnification
Codger of Mine
The Pearly Gates of Delirium

just thought of...
And You and Eyestrain
Arriving R.I.P. (that's bad!)

All in good fun!! <img src=pix/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

<b><font face=Tahoma><font color=red>Hey, Watch it! I ALWAYS USE "BOLD" PRINT!

Ok, Sorry I missed the "chat" of "I've Seen ALL Old People" I was actually there but left 10 minutes before, TIMING is everything...
Isn't that what those laxative commericals promise???
I WAS there for the THONG chat and others similar and YES...
I have a "contribution" or two for this thread.....

YES TOUR 2020: Sponsored by DEPENDS

"Going For The 100"
"Shock To The System-Defib Mix"

"Medley:
Enima The Presence Of
The Ancient
The Remembering??
*Repeat*
Enima The Presence Of
The Ancient
The Remembering??
*Repeat*
Alzheimers Mix

"Endless Drool"
"Levitra Will Find A Way"
"Rheumatism Of Love- Ben Gay Mix"
"Frag-ill"
"The Calling-ehhh??, ehhh??"
</font id=red></font id=Tahoma></b>

As always, WE all here "love and respect" our elders and mean NO disrespect to anyone going thru the heartbreak of any of the afflications we've mentioning here, this and threads like this are more of a celebration of life experiences, our need to laugh, etc etc Ever seen a funeral in New Orleans??? You know what I'm talking about.

<b><i><font color=green>These were all great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And You are right about a lot of these points you brought up
especially the New Orleans funerals.
I especially love
"Endless Drool"
"Levitra Will FInd A Way"(substitute Viagra and Red Bull or the new one they were hocking on the SuperBowl last night)
"Shock To The System" (Defib Mix)
Having spent 17 years in the health care industry much of it with the elderly I have seen all of this and more.

Time and a Turd

Long Distance Hoveround

Round a gout (in and around the ache)

Where will you be when you can't hear

Tales from Colonoscopic Lotions

Senile Khatru

Fart of the Sunrise

Mindless Driving

I am Creaking, Can you hear me?

And You And I (And Viagra)

And you and I reach out for reasons to ... crawl

Age is a matter of perspective - as you get older, older people start to look younger!

And their music is ageless - that's the cool thing.

<b><font face=Tahoma><font color=red>It's ALL about "how you act and feel", not chronological "age" anyway......
Besides, "50" is only halfway "TO 100, TO 100".....

MY "PERSONAL GOAL" IS 107 since my grandfather made it
"TO 106, TO 106"....

I've just reached my "peak"....(50) top of the mountain, now for the slow, fun filled desent.....zoom zoom.....lol

Now let me go think of some more song titles!! before I forget....

The descent is definitely the FUN part! Since I just hit 50, guess I'm zooming too! Much more fun than that "uphill" climb! <img src=pix/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
