<b><font face='Century Gothic'><font color=red>Changing "courses" some from the "Try Leaving A Tall Horse" (misunderstood lyrics) thread I was/am always "amazed and amused" at what LYRICS are right out there in front of us that symbolize:
SOMETIMES WORDS HAVE TWO (or more) MEANINGS.....

LYRICS that say one thing but usually "mean" something else but are NOT technically "offensive/suggestive" enough to get banned from airplay or being sold at WAL-MART/K-Mart......There are some clever phrases out there...care to share your choices????

Here are a few to start this off...
CTTE-"I Get Up, I Get Down"..had to use this one, tacky I know but....
SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE-"I'll stay with you darling, now, I'll stay with you till my seeds are dried up".....
LEMON SONG-"Squeeze my lemon till the juice runs down my leg"....
RAINY DAY WOMEN-"Everybody must get stoned, they'll stone you"...
LET IT BLEED-"We all need someone to bleed/cream on"....

ALL were playing in prime time on "establishment" owned/controlled radio stations....sometimes with MY parents riding right there in the car and with me hoping they didn't notice or ask any questions about....AND there are many more.....The Beatles, Stones, Jimi.....

I know, I've seen this phrase in printed lyric books BOTH ways, so this one could be on BOTH threads I suppose.....I actually have a friend who knows Jack Bruce...I'll ask him to put in a call....
IF Jack can remember!! I'll post the "reply"....

AND they probably "performed" this song different ways LIVE out of boredom....
I've got several boots of JIMI clearly singing "WHILE I KISS THIS GUY"..with his trademark chuckle also being heard.....again out of boredom....WE should BE so "bored" performing such songs!!!
And I can't even post some of the "variations" in lyrics Jim Morrison performed while singing The Doors classics LIVE!!!

"Still It Makes You Wonder"...intentional, brillant or just chance???

Rolling Stones song. I think if goes
like this:

She blew her nose,
then she blew my mind.

Guess which song? Is this correct?

Well let's go in the way-back machine to the 60's and a group called the Standells. Song, "Dirty Water." This song was on a KHJ compilation ablum ("30 Boss Goldens")I bought when I was 11 or so, and it was quite a revelation to me 11-year-old ears to finally figure out the lyrics:
Down by the river
Down by the banks of the River Charles
That's where you'll babe
lots of mother fuckers and thieves
(very cool people)
But I love that dirty water
Aw, Boston you're my home.
This was played on AM radio!
There was also "my baby does the Hanky Panky" by Tommy James and the Shondells.
Am I dating myself, or what??

How about The Beatles, "Why Don't We Do It In the Road? I remember this song being on at my friend Yvonne's house in the 60's, and her mother asking, "Yvonne, what are they doing in the road?" She gave some BS answer, and we cracked up!

And while we're on the Beatles, how about "Happiness Is a Warm Gun"

"Mother Superior jump the gun . . .when I feel my finger on your trigger . . ."

Or The Isley Brothers - "It's your thing, do what you want to do, I can't tell you who to sock it to . . ."

Hey - the whole "sock it to me" idea ran rampant on Laugh-In! Prime time TV with parents watching, no less! Of course, President Nixon saying "sock it to me" on TV DIDN'T inspire me! LOL

And Bob - my son asked me when he was quite young what the "Hanky Panky" was. I feigned innocence, and said "maybe it's like the Hokey Pokey?"

I know about Jack, I posted a liver cancer/Jack Bruce link..no worries about bothering him, my friend speaks to him often anyway, they recorded some music together when my friend had a "jazz" label in Chapel Hill, NC. My friend recently asked Jack about the short-lived "opening" at the bass position in the King Crimson lineup and what he thought about it, etc...Jack actually likes being asked for "advice"....his "gruff" Scotish responses are humorous too according to the quotes I've heard..so his "comment" on the "Seeds/Seas" question might be entertaining and good theraphy for Jack to get "into" as it were....I'll post what "Responses" (Cream reference)I get on YT!<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

Tom, you were thinking of an April Wine song, but the point is not the way you hear it, but the way it's spelled--"If You See Kay . . ." <img src=pix/icon_smokin.gif border=0 align=middle>
