Steve Howe's Guitar Sound

Postby Megalodon » Tue Apr 20, 2004 4:09 am

Maybe I should have posted this on the concert talk forum, But I
thought Steves guitar sound is better than ever on this tour!! When
we were at the Seattle show, steves guitar really stood out, and he
seemed to have a much better tone than on previous tours. It may
just be me, but I think he had the gain on his amps a little higher
than normal with some more crunch to it. His solos sounded alot
stronger and in your face, especially on songs like Ritual and
South Side, and Mind Drive. When you guys see him on this tour, tell
us what you think about Steves guitar sound. Oh and he also moved
and smiled more than ever, he was really having fun performing!!<img src=pix/icon_smokin.gif border=0 align=middle>

Kudos to Hugh Manson for helping Steve get a good sound. Nice one Hugh.

I've noticed a BIG upswing, especially since the Hawaii gig. Jumping up and down, smiling, just more "into it." My theory is that Rick being back really brings out a competitive side . . .

I follow at least one date every tour, and I've noticed this too Meg . . .

He was really rocking on tour with Remedy, and was playing with LOTS of gain - I hope he carries on in the same vein. I'm sure it makes a difference not going into the tour 'cold' as well.
