The Meaning Of "Close To The Edge"

Ok, this is heavy duty and not for everyone especially if you are high on grass or whatever else you require to get thru the day.
But this guy is has a relegious site that is very interesting and he is obviously a big Yes fan.

He describes line by line what the lyrics mean to that classic song that changed my musical life way back in 10th grade.

He has put a lot of time in on this and I wonder if Jon and Steve have seen it.
Check it out if you dare. http://www.yhwh.com/ctte.htm

Too much time or not, this guy has definitely thought this through, and it makes sense, what I've read of it, at least . . . I'll have to peruse this more at a later time . . .

Now I want to go home and load "Close To The Edge" into the car!

A very interesting (if verbose) take, but certainly well thought out.

Nice read, especially while listening to the song.

I've read this before (took a while!).

And although it was very insightful there is obviously more than one interpretation of this wonderful song. I guess these meanings are just this guy's opinion. He seems to have changed it from Buddhism-orientated to Christian though...

Yes, his site is very Biblical for sure.

Well, I think CTTE hones in on those religious precepts that are common to ALL religions, so it's easy to interpret the thing in the light of one religion, or another.

Interesting thoughts, I agree that the lyrics are very spiritual, perhaps biblical.
I believe the meaning of 'Close To The Edge' will never cease to be a subject for conversation.

I know I posted this essay I wrote five years ago before, but here is my take on the meaning of 'Close To The Edge'.
