No doubt you've all heard the news. I think it's great! YES never stops innovating, and why not do it? A new album, & tour... Come to Texas, boys!

This doesn't excite me at all. My first reaction is that it gives me a good excuse to save a couple of hundred bucks next time around and skip the concert. Maybe they'll just skip nyc and go to tx instead!

Last year I was so excited to see Yes play Masterworks, I saw them three times. I'll probably see them once this year, but I will have low expectations. I would have been ecstatic to hear them do a tour of unplayed non-hits. Now, no doubt the "classics" will prevail in Musak splendor. Anyway, I'll withhold judgment and hope for the best. If we get a new CD of studio music, that will be what I will find solace in.

Withhold judgement?? Did I misread your post? Ah, how holding on to the past shuts out new possibilities.

No offense, but anyone who doesn't want experience the next tour ought not to go. Nothing worse than fans that bitch and cry during a concert, except maybe drunks and druggies that ruin things for everyone else.

I am one who voted against the orchestra. I am concerned about the financial aspect for the band, plus I'm not sure I will appreciate the orchestra mixing with the band. However, I would NEVER miss a Yes concert, even if I heard the worse about it! I am hoping they don't play the same old hits, although I thoroughly enjoyed the Masterworks tour. I feel like it's time to move on with some NEW music -- which is what they may do! I definitly think it's too early to pass any kind of judgement at this point. They may perform a lot of their new music, and they may not use the orchestra for ALL their numbers. Then again, it may sound GREAT! Who knows, this may be a whole new start of a different path for them. I just can't believe anyone would just decide it's not going to be any good, and not even give it a chance! Hasn't Yes always been known to do something different, something out of the ordinary..."progressive"?
Ed, I do understand where you might be coming from, BUT you might miss out on something great!

I too voted against the orchestra. But, be things as they are, I see no point in worrying about things that I have no control over; it's a waste of energy. I feel much better letting go of my own wants, and embracing the present moment. Why hold on to that shit??

we have heaven, it's a decision, not a place.

As the reviews roll in, it seems no one has anything negative to say about the orchestra or the keyboardist. They like the "fill" the orchestra provides and say Tom has Yes material down pat. Many of the previous skeptics are recanting. I can't wait for Ed's recant.

Geez, you guys don't forget ANYTHING.

First of all, I made that comment in MARCH, before there was any indication that there would be new material with integral orchestra.

There have been a lot of bands that have come around with an orchestra for no special reason, and if there was no special reason, then I wouldn't have been interested.

Then, when the first tickets went on sale, they were ninety bux each. I was already leery about the orchestra, and I certainly wasn't interested in paying $400 for tickets for an orchestra I didn't really want to see.

However, once the news came out about the new material, and once the other ticket prices appeared to be more reasonable, that made a world of difference.

I already recanted my "I'll sit this one out" when I mentioned that I'll be at Jones Beach.

And since I'm also going to the Radio City show, I guess that completes the change of heart.

Ok, you've been spared a mortal sin, but you may have to do a little time in purgatory.

Some reviews claim it's better than the last tour.
Enjoy the show!
