Meeting Yestalkers in Philly

Meeting Yestalkers in Philly

Postby YesJo » Wed May 12, 2004 3:35 am

OMG!!!!! It was soooooo great meeting Amy, Eric, and Ed and his wife at the concert!!!!!! That was too much fun!!!!!!

I know you guys want to hear my story of after the show, but there isn't much to tell, but it was still wonderful!!! You guys saw how many people were waiting to go into the after room, that was who I was competing with to talk to the guys, but I did shake Jon's hand, get a picture taken with him, and told him thank you for playing the "Meeting" it was my wedding song. (Actually, my husband told him that) He said "I'm glad you liked it."

I was talking to Alan first, for a little while!!!!! Then, he moved on and my husband said "There's Jon, and I said "where" and turned and he was right in front of my face! What did I say? I say "Oh my god" and get all happy. Just like the stupid groupie I DID NOT WANT TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh, but I was shocked!!!!!!

So, then I follow him a little bit and then I get in a picture with him and my husband tells him about the Meeting. That's it.

Then I meet Rick, get in a picture, that was nice, he was very sweet.

Then I find Steve and Chris in the other room and they are looking at photos of themselve that some photographer took and they loved them, so I just kind of stared at them as they talked and laughed and I was just happy to be "in the presence of"

All in all it was a memorable and happy, very life affirming night for me. I got to sit in the 4th row, thanks to the kindest usher in the world and I will never forget the experience!

Your guys turns!!!

My son and I loved the show! Well except for the jovial half drunk guy who sat next to my son who said he weighed 400 pounds. My son moved to a seat in front of me and we had a blast. All the guys were right on. It seemed like I could barely hear Chris until YIND but other wise the sound was good. I had a good view with nobody sitting in front of me and I was pissed I didn't bring my camera! I could have gotten great shots. Looking forward to Yes and DT.

Jodi, it was SO GREAT to meet you too! You are a sweetie and even cuter in real life! So glad you got to spend time with the band after the show - how totally COOL!! (I don't know if you witnessed the "scene" with Eric trying to get back there, I'll save that story for another time!) What a show - too amazing. Please post pics when you can!

Hey JO. So happy it worked out backstage. Great me & my wife meeting all you guys/gals. Jon ran right by us & stood right behind us for A few secs. during RYTHYM OF LOVE. I may have been moved as much as anyone there for their mention & tribute to ED SCIACKY. I was a hugh fan of his. He was as responsible as any media person for Yes' success here in the states. And as Jon said, PHILLY is ..well like another home. As great a show I've ever seen of YES. Hope our paths meet again someday. ONWARD.....PEACE.

Hubby (Alan) posted this pic at his website, and I said "My, that's nice!" when I saw it. So, I decided to post it here...same location (Spectrum parking lot) as Jo's and my pic.
Ain't he cute?! And to think, what he puts up with...
BTW, he is a phenomenal musician, which is what attracted me to him in the first place - oh, and the stubble didn't hurt either.

Hi ED,
I hope we can meet up again someday as well. You guys were so fun to hang out with. I felt the same way about Ed Sciaky, I had tears so many times during that show. Keep in touch by the Yestalk Ed!

Hmmm, what DID go on at Eric's apartment when "certain parties" took him home?

Inquiring minds want to know . . .

And thanks for the compliment about us Goddesses, Tribute - I think the "YesStuds" are pretty good-looking too!

Yeah, they're good-looking...now get the yardsticks out...

And what happened at Eric's apartment, you ask? Wellll, it's like this. We go up there and Eric has these crazy plants growing all over the place under purplish lights...and about twenty cats crawling around in and out and from under a mess of garbage and, er, "stained" clothes. Eric opens a bottle of vodka and drinks the entire thing, as Alan and I watch, our mouths hanging open. Then he throws on some porno tapes and tells us to sit down and watch with him. We do, and man they were HOT. Alan kept asking Eric to rewind, rewind!! We watched the tapes for about an hour and we were all pretty worked up by then. So we decided to, ah, "make ourselves more comfortable". Alan and Eric had a blast. Eric and I had a blast. Alan and I had a blast. All three of us had a blast. The cats had a blast. We must have then fallen asleep for awhile, cos next thing we know, Eric's alarm clock goes off. It wakes us all up, and we see that it's 6 am. We gather our things and run out of the apartment. I got to work on time, but people kept talking about "frosting" when they thought I couldn't hear them.
