Igor, the discussion

Igor, the discussion

Postby Yessong » Fri Sep 25, 2015 8:56 pm

The other day I was listening to "The Ladder" and it occurred to me that Igor really captures the Wakeman feel/sound better than any other Yes keyboardist. His solos, use of classic moog sounds and organ sounds all mixed with a classical feel just really brings the Yes sound that we know so well to the fore.

Agree? Disagree?....discuss.....

Igor ... incredibly talented keyboardist. Too bad his arrogance, ego and aggressiveness ruined his chances to stay with Yes. If he could have kept his physical urges under control, he might have been allowed to stay with the band longer, and possibly have recorded with them again.

According to Wikipedia - "Since leaving Yes, Khoroshev worked on film soundtracks, including "Good Night Valentino" and "The Pearl", and in a production role, often working with Mike Plotnikoff (e.g. With Shivering Hearts We Wait, 2011)." Not a whole lot to say about the past 14 years... good gawrsh, has it been THAT long since Yes fired him? Wow.

The Ladder was the first real Yes album since Tormato or perhaps Drama IMO
Especially the keyboard sounds were a fresh reminder of the classic Yes era.
Too bad Igor could not keep his hands on the keys, he would have been a 'keyper'. :-)
