The TALK logo

quote:
Here stood this simplistic, unremarkable, dry and uninspired design that had two things going for it; an unusual color scheme, especially on a white backdrop, and the fact that it wasn't a Roger Dean rip-off.

I saw this in another forum, and since I've been meaning to start a topic about this...well, it spurred me on.

Yeah, the talk logo didn't go over well with most fans (I don't like it), but it is worth talking about.

We have a bird, a clam, and a plant of some kind. At least that's what I THINK they are. Comments...opinions?

But it lines up with .... Earth, Sea, Sky. Nice!

I've never seen a discussion about this, so if there IS a clear story about what this logo means, then someone shut me up before I continue to make a (bigger) fool of myself.

You been working on those Rorsach (sp?) tests again, Ed?

Comment - I don't know, but I do like it, simply for its tactile, textural quality.

Oh yeah - and doesn't it look like two dogs, shagging?

I hate the Talk logo. Always have. Though the colors do draw your eye in when you're sorting through the CD bins.

I tried doing a web search and came up with NOTHING. Damn. But I pulled a Ken, went to petermax.com and sent off an e-mail to the webmaster. Hopefully they won't think I'm some sort of crackpot.

However, I did find a bit on the Forgotten Yesterdays page where someone was bitching about the ticket prices for the Talk tour being too high, at $29.50 a pop. Somehow, I don't think we're going to get away that cheaply this time around!

I was shocked when the cover came out, and frankly it still disturbs me.

What I really hate about this cover is that my copy is no longer white ... it's beige.

I like the logo. I have it hanging in my bedroom. Looks good beside my Cure stuff.
