An eye in the Close To The Edge cover

An eye in the Close To The Edge cover

Postby Sandya Maulana » Sun Sep 16, 2001 5:38 pm

Have you seen any strangeness in the Close To The Edge cover ?
I see an EYE there. An eye, vicious green eye, looking back at me.
Believe me, I tell you no lie or horror story.
See below, at the green part of the cover, from the center then move to the right, you'll see what I mean. (Magnify to see clearer).

Maybe I'll post the MAGNIFICATION later.

I can't see it. I was staring at it with my magnifying glass and my dad came downstairs and just looke dat me like "What the hell?" and just went upstairs. HAHA that was funny. I just dont see it. You say from the center, move right. Do you mean to the edge, or between the edge and the center. I do have my vinyl copy out.

Well, I see one. For me it's about a square inch in size and mostly in the center, maybe a little left and down. I'm looking at my vinyl copy also, which has decades of wear and tear. Also, mine is not clear enough to hold a particular emotion. My first it was a very loving friendly attractive eye.

Sandya / Jackalz, I see both of the "eyes" you mention. But it takes a fair bit of looking! Are you guys sharing a particularly powerful joint at the moment?!!!<img src=pix/icon_smokin.gif border=0 align=middle>

After a six pack, I can see five naked women on the cover of CTTE.

But then again, I would likely see five naked women on the cover of Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" also....<img src=pix/silly.gif border=0 align=middle>

That's where you've gone wrong, you should have cut it into one inch <b>big</b> squares.<img src=pix/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Seriously though, if you try hard enough it is possible to see almost anything in this type of random spatter or stochastic screen; especially if the cover has damage which will add further variation in the pattern. The effect is much the same as seeing shapes in clouds. I saw the eye - I had to work a bit harder to see the naked ladies, but I've got the orignal Time and a Word cover to help me out with that.<img src=pix/icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

At first, I was thinking, "Hey, pass that over here!" but I can see it. I'm surprised I didn't see any naked ladies though . . .

Some of my other favourite details are the cat paw prints in the clouds of Yessongs "Pathways," and the band's astrological signs in the sky of Tales. Oh, if you want naked ladies, the inside of Alan's Ramshackled has lots of 'em! <img src=pix/icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle> Anyone have this one? <img src=pix/icon_smokin.gif border=0 align=middle>

<hr>"It's rubbish, it's absolute crap! C-R-A-P, rubbish! We don't want anyone to see it, because it's so crappy! In fact we're going to call the tour Shut The F**k Up And Listen Tour!"

Jon, while Chris chuckles hysterically . . .

Yeah, I kind of saw the eye. But I wasn't looking very hard. I think I need to be drunk or something, or maybe try it later. I don't feel like sitting still long enough to see it.

You have to cut it into two-inch squares. Paste it back together and try again.
