License Plate Art

Hello fellow Yesfans!

I admit this particular style of license plate just begs for doing something Yessish, but can anybody top this?

Wow! that's magic. Here they won't let you do anything like that to the plates. Even having a different font can be illegal. Some people ignore it and the police generally ignore it but I'm sure that if you get stopped for something else . . .

Hi PC!

Thanks again for the space on your website.

I'm looking at the box it came in:

Custom Engraving Co.
1700 W. New Haven Ave.
Melbourne, FL 32904-3916

From their confirming email:

Sales Dept.
Custom Engraving Company
Customer Service: Open 7 days/week (888) 605-2572 or (321) 676-9885 - (321) 676-9920 (fax)

Be sure to visit all our websites:
http://www.autoplates.com
http://www.flagsofchoice.com
http://www.imprint-promotions.com

Their web site is a little confusing when it comes to ordering. I began ordering one style of plate frame, then learned it could not be engraved in a script font, so I abandoned that order and got the more expensive one shown in the picture. The engraver called me up a few days later to say he somehow had been given the first, cancelled order, which simply had "Heart of the Sunrise" across the bottom, and he had gone ahead and engraved that one before he realized what I had really ordered. He wanted to know if I would buy the error frame for $20.00. I told him it wasn't my fault, but offered him $10 for it. He agreed and shipped it with the ordered frame.

So, (1) They are a reliable company with prompt service and a great selection; and (2) I have an extra frame, silver brass with black letters, Times New Roman, that says "Heart of the Sunrise" across the bottom, which I would part with for my cost if anybody could use it.

Hi Simon:

The State of Michigan will let you "personalize" your license plate for a slight upcharge over the regular plate. You are limited to the standard 0-9 A-Z, seven characters maximum, and you cannot copy an existing plate. You order it from them. It is not something you do for yourself at home. I was sure someone had "Yes" taken already, hence the "YesYes" idea. The engraved frame was a separate purchase. Frames are allowed as long as they don't obscure the expiration month for the plate.

Some folks get really clever within the above-noted limitations. My favorite: A2THDR (a tooth doctor).

Wonder if they have a showroom? Shoot, I'll just drive by there. That's only 25 miles away from me.

Got this idea earlier ... how about YesTalk license plate frames? I'd buy one. I live here, may as well advertise my home address.

Yesquire, that's kind of cool, cars are (generally) so mass produced that allowing them to be personalised like that is a great idea. If I ever make my million i am going to have the Yesmobile, bedecked in Dean's work and his Yes logos!

Sorry Ed, tell you what to be fair, I'll have the Dean covers and you can have the rest.

Simon.

PS It's only fair that I count Magnification as a Dean cover because it's so good!

That is another wonderful piece of Yes memorabilia, Colin. Did you consider asking for the Rolls? Seriously, whatever happened to the Rolls? Did Chris sell it or ship it over to the States? I understand those cars are quite durable, so maybe Chris' Rolls is still out there someplace for the avid collector to locate.
