Thanks guys. These were both very helpful. I think between the two of them they are getting close. WAY better than the tab I found online. Also, I think that Em6+9 chord sounds like the right one!

Try this. Finger the 9th fret like an open Em chord at the 2nd fret ( 0 9 9 0 0 0 ). Then holding fingers move to the 10th fret. Repeat. Then 9th, 10th, 12th, 10th 9th pause 10th, 9th, 10th, etc. That should get you started.
