I want to hear some original stuff

Looking around yestalk i've seen a lot of you guys posting covers of differents types of music. It all sounds great, but i'm sure a lot of you must have some original music that youre proud of. If someone wants to post some music that they wrote and recorded, id love to hear it.

Re: Is the electric guitar essentially dead?

I guess we have kind of reached a plateua when it comes to exploring new sounds on the electric guitar. It's definately not dead though. There will always be new ways of playing and sounding. Jon's MIDI guitar is the perfect example.

Cool thread.
I really love the 'Forest Gump' soundtrack.
As for film scores, there's a movie called 'Lady in the water' which blew me away. The score was done by a guy called James Newton Howard.

Re: MPA shuts down Powertabs.net

I never understood stuff like that. If I were a popular artist I would love for people around the world to be able to play my music. That's a shame. I got a lot of really good transcriptions from this site. Luckilly I still have a few of the files saved on my desktop.

Wow, that's some pretty cool stuff. I've always wanted to make an attempt at biulding a guitar. The closest I've gotten was attempting to make a theremen last year. It makes a lot of noise but really doesnt work the way I think it should. Your pictures have inspired me though.

Re: Yes Hall of Fame

I honestly think that if the upcoming tour is sucessful they will be inducted, and I think the fact that Oliver Wakeman is touring with them is going to be a key factor. Having a famouse rock musicians son touring with them kind of groups them with bands like Zeppelin and The Who.

I was at Jon's School of Rock show here in NY last night.
He said that Yes will be touring some time this year. Wouldn't believe it if I didn't hear it myself.

Re: Yes in Boston July 23 - Yes! No! Yes? No?

I think it might be Circa. I know they're playing a show here in NY soon at B.B. Kings Blues club, so they're probably doing more of the east coast. I think I remember they're first show in San Juan Capistrano being listed as [:yes] .

Re: 9-11 an "inside" job?

I think many of us admit the possibility that our government is capable of doing the things described on this thread. As to why we don't leave? Well, I doubt that any of us really believe that it's any different in any other country . . . I'm sure all governments have their secrets, and their share...

Re: 9-11 an "inside" job?

There is absolutely no evidence that should lead anyone to believe the government would do something like kill its own citizens. This is a theory made up by people who don't want to trust the government. I'm not saying that there aren't secrets that we don't know about, but the idea that there were ...

Re: My first Yes cover

Very pretty arrangement and I loved the intro. The voice isn't suited for the song. I know that it's not an easy song to sing and it takes a certain style and characteristic to pull it off. I was hoping to hear these vocals on your version of "Under The Bridge", as the vox sound more like Anthony K...

My first Yes cover

After a few months of playing togeather my band decided that we should make a few recordings, and our first one is Your Move. We just finished tonight, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'd love for some input. What does it need (aside from a new vocalist)? You can have a listen here... http://w...

Re: Does your YES "Flame Still Burn" !?

I've imagined it a number of times. Yes' final concert at Madison Square Garden, the Union line-up. They would play an all day set and end the night with 'To be over'. A single tear would work its way down my face and someone would completely kill the moment by screaming "Do Freebird!". Is that too ...

I'm feeling really good about this. I just finished reading Chris's latest interview with NFTE on 'Swiss Choir'. The last question is about his goals for Yes '08, and he said that they didn't have a set list yet. It seems like he feels pretty confident about it.

Thank you so much for that link. I just ordered it, and I'm sure it will be worth the investment. It should also allow me to play my acoustics that dont have pickups, as they will be perfectly still and easy to mic. This is going to create so many musical opportunities, I can hear it already. Thanks...

I bought a tele from a guy in a heavy metal band (which I believe toured with Metalica) about a year ago. He replaced the bridge pickup with a Gibson humbucker and it makes for a pretty interesting sound.

Absolutely love ELP. Greg Lake is an amazing vocalist/bass/guitar player. Carl Palmer is probably the greatest drummer I will ever see. Re: The era of free music is upon us

This is so true. It really hit me when I read a recent John Wetton interview. He said that Asias upcoming studio album may very well be the last real album with a Roger Dean cover design. CD's are a thing of the past.

Video killed the radio star.
Mp3 killed the CD
