Re: Alice Cooper dis's Yes on his radio show

It doesn't surprise me that Yes fans would take issue with AC's comments. Does it surprise you? Not really. Alice likes JOKING about bands like Yes. We can take a joke right? Right? One more thing, the same guy who "disses Yes" is the only one I've ever heard play Siberian Khatru on the radio! (I w...

A Request From Another Fan

I was reading a review of The Ladder on Ground and Sky yesterday and it got me thinking. Here's a suggestion on how to enjoy the 90's albums a little bit more: Stop comparing the 70's Yes to the 90's Yes. Please, the band has obviously established that they aren't going back to the epic twenty-minut...

Second Chances

After playing Close to the Edge, Fragile, and Tales to death, I decided to go a little further into the catalog and listen to some of the other Yes albums again. I re-listened to OYE and Tormato. Here are my thoughts: Open Your Eyes- As most Yes fans will say, this was the weakest work Yes produced....

Hmmm, this is really difficult. There are songs from every album that I like but number one would have to be OYE. No Way We Can Lose sounds like something on Sesame Street or some show like that. My vote for worst Yessong in history. The second one would have to be Time and a Word. A pity Peter Bank...

No. It's actually based on the four Shastric scriptures that Jon Anderson discovered when he was leafing through the book "Autobiography Of A Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda. It's the best damned album Yes ever put out as well. No argument here. Admittedly it took me a while to get into the middle s...

Okay, on the bonus tracks of Tormato, there is a song called "Money". Rick is the one speaking in the background throughout the song. The question is, who is he satirizing?

Roundabout is correct with 1329 live playings to date! I'll haveto think of something a little tougher next time.

Correct and correct! I couldn't remember the tour name off the top of my head.

Another one, what Yessong has been played the most live over the years?

New Yes album art

Because I can't draw worth crap, I would like to see everyone else's ideas for a Roger Dean style album cover. I know there are some really creative yes fans out there, so I think it'd be kinda cool to start putting up cover art. (If there already is a post like this I didn't see it 'cause the brain...

The Yes Keyboardists

In my many wanderings across the internet looking for assorted Yes media I've seen fragments of an interesting debate. Not quite the scope of Howe vs. Rabin but still interesting. I want to know what everyone here thinks; which Yes keyboardist is your favorite. But first, here's my opinion. Personal...

Homeworld, my second favorite Yes song of all time! There I said it, I like Homeworld more than Roundabout, HOTS, GoD, all of that stuff. (Except for CTTE) My reason is this was the first Yes song I listened to. Not the first one I heard, but the first one I listened to and actually paid attention t...

Transitioning to Yes

I'm been a die-hard Yes fan for about 4 years now, due to the fact that I wasn't around for the 70's stuff and was disenchanted with their 80's line-up (I guess that makes me a Ladder). I have friends who are classic rock lovers (Led Zeppelin, Queen, etc.). What I really need are some good Yes songs...

It doesn't suck

I don't think The Ladder sucks. While it certainly isn't Close to the Edge, The Ladder is my favorite modern Yes album (80's+). I do admit that, if it wasn't for Sierra's "Homeworld" (the game) I would've completly missed out on this album. The song "Homeworld" is my absolute favorite song from the ...
