Very Nice! Thanks for the link My pleasure. :) very cool - nice to see the Stick (& it's variants) being used to such good effect.. Yep - the instrumentation they employ is wonderful. Travel! By necessity, living in the north of Sweden, I usually have to travel a bit to see my favourite artists. Sometimes even abroad.. Having said that; my other musical Gods, Jethro Tull, actually played in my hometown a couple of years ago! I wonder if I could convince YES to do the same? :D Be...

BTW Amy, do check out Unitopia, I think you would really like them. The title track of The Garden has been compared to Supper's Ready, and it's not too off the mark. Gosh, I've never heard of any song being compared to "Supper's Ready"...that certainly sounds intriguing. Thanks for the info, Linda!...

Re: ABWH vs Magnification

Magnification was a tremendous disappointment for me. Somewhere I read that Yes was attempting to reach back and use a "70s formula" with this album, but you certainly can never go back again. There was nothing progressive and adventurous going on here, with its mostly-insipid, saccharine lyrics an...

[font="] I think the fact that I've been a Yes and Genesis fan for so long has predisposed me to favor bands (consciously and otherwise) which draw at least some of their influence from these T-Rexes of the prog world. The following are bands that I like very, very much. Do some exploration if ...

Hey, Barry White had a cool voice, even if he wasn't prog! Greg Lake has a sensual voice, but to me, that's a GOOD thing . . . guess I didn't perceive him as a sleaze though . . . ;) Nah, not a sleaze...just someone "looking for opportunity". ;) A lot of his work is too in yer face. I like it more ...

Oh, man... I didn't even think about Greg Lake... the quality of the vocals in "C'est La Vie".... man, that send chills up and down my spine every time I hear it. Not to mention his work with King Crimson - for a PRIME example, the entire "Court of the Crimson King" album... just phenomenal..... Gr...

For the life of me, I've never understood Ozzy Osbourne's vocal appeal.

So where the heck is IAN Anderson? And Eddie Vedder...rock and roll grit and anguish personified...I love his voice. Lots more in the prog vein, too. Hm, that gives me an idea for my Thread of the Month. :)

Nothing wrong with ruffling feathers, unless it results in hurling invectives and ugly free-for-alls. We have had way too much of that in the last month or two. Re: What's Yesfans got that Yestalk doesn't?

I have some musical heroes, some whom I've met, and in meeting them, it's sometimes been tough not to feel star-struck - if a musician floors me with his or her music, I do put them on a pedestal - 'cos music matters so much to me, and I am so impressed with a person who can make music that makes me...
