Bring them all along just like the 60's when you had 1/2 a dozen or so artists jammed on one bus running the roads!

Re: Yes to tour with Asia in early 2009????

ah,, but which YES are we gonna get?! & with Howe doing a set with Asia will that mean a truncated performance on both sides? 60mins of Asia & 60 mins of Yes? Hmm I know what I'd rather have 120 minutes of!! A while back I had heard rumors of ELP being thrown in for good measure....that would mean ...

Interesting you bring this up...I just responded to a Moody Blues question on PE. I own "This Is" and Long Distance Voyager. Between the two albums I feel like I have the best of what this group put out over it's long history. Don't know much about what went on in the studio to put together their mu...

Re: "Bonus" Tracks

I also personally like the instrumental fragments attached to the GftO remaster. Ditto, I'm curious what else that Moraz had influence over. Surly some of that stuff is there. Montreux is a great example of where Yes was at that stage. Some of the run through's on a few of the remasters I can live ...

Re: Ahem, Yes song of the week???

Good choice! Love what Rick added to this song. A great example of how Yes can "squeeze" a lot of good stuff into a small space. This one got lots of air play where I live. Jon tells a wonderful story, again in a short space which I love. Again great example of how a rock band doesn't have to go on ...

Re: CARAVAN

I found out about this band by way of Camel. A friend of my brother's loaned me Moonmadness and when I returned it to him he said "look through my collection and see if there is anything else you'd like to borrow". I conveniently found his Caravan albums right behind his Camel selections. I listened...

He certainly "rocked" on the night I heard him in November with the current tour. Jumping around like it was 1973!

Re: Rick's craziest Solo?

I feel that he all-time CRAZIEST solo is towards the end of The Revealing Science Of God, it just makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up! IMHO, his overall greatest solo is the Hammond solo after the grand pipe organ section of Close To The Edge. It wasn't too over-the-top and it wasn't too...

Re: In a Word: Suckered?

Just compared the version of Fist of Fire included here with the original and I have to say I think it is far better. Makes me wonder what the nature of the band/label politics were at the time to favour the keyboard version over the fabulous guitar work on this. It also reminds me of the fabled ve...

Re: In a Word: Suckered?

On second thought I might have a couple of these songs if they were a part of the "bonus" material on the re-issues from several years ago. I just listened to a "new" version of We Can Fly From Here on You Tube that was very interesting, and should have been put on the Drama reissue for sure. http:/...

Don't own it as yet, but if I found it for a "price" I would pick it up simply for the few songs I don't have, Richard, Tango, Never Done Before, Backing Track, Last Train and the alternate version of Fist of Fire. I did buy the original box set years ago called YesYears and loved the selection they...

I'm aware that a Yes: Complete songbook exists though I don't own it and have heard that it's very dumbed down; just the main melodies and stuff. Does anyone know of any other Yes sheet music here? It would be much appreciated! :D It's been years (20+) since I saw the Yessong book you are referring...

Certainly one of the highlights from that album. Nice selection from an album that seems to have "slipped" through the cracks. Just listened to a boot of the 2002 tour and this was the opening track, sounded great on that tour.

Great selection from my favorite Yes album. A recent listen to a boot from the Relayer tour left me speechless. Moraz does quite a number on this track. And Howe gets out there with his solo. Unlike anything before or since. Not sure I want them to return to this one, it's better left preserved. A o...

Re: Yesshows.

As with several Yes' albums, the timing of this release was interesting. Shortly after the Drama tour I believe, obviously the band had "disbanded" and the record company was looking for a way to keep the name in front of the public until things got "gelled" elsewhere. "Classic Yes" was to follow sh...

Re: Yessong of the Week: The Remembering...

I remember sitting in bed one night and hearing that last bit, "And I do think very well..." I sort of froze and rewound that section. Listened to it about seven times. Then said, "Okay, maybe there is something here." And that's what got the boulder rolling. So, in the end, this is a rather import...

Re: Yessong of the Week: That, That Is

So, obviously his role was never going to be as big as if he had been there all that month when we were recording it. It was no sour grapes. Rick only had so much time and he could only do so many keyboards. I think the ones that were recorded are very nicely audible. But I’ll leave a margin of gap...

Most of my music goings of late have been outdoor venues over the summer months. Love the "space" that those venues offer. You can breath!
A few indoor shows but again I tend to stay to the small clubs / coffee houses etc. Anything over 100 people turns into an ugly mess for me.

This one is sort of like ABWH in terms of "where did this come from?" I thought Yes had broke up after Talk. Came from left field. That, That Is is my favorite track from the whole Keys sessions. Steve is wonderful on this track. Maybe Billy can clear up a misunderstanding I have about this album. T...
