Re: Muse and Porcupine Tree in UK album chart

Yeah, it's definitely fun - I don't regret buying the disc or anything like that. I suppose in a way that makes it even more Queen-like as there was always a proportion of their stuff that was very tongue-in-cheek. I always find myself wondering how seriously you are supposed to take Bellamy's paran...

Re: Muse and Porcupine Tree in UK album chart

I'm sort of undecided - on the Muse disc, that is. It's incredibly over-the-top and very catchy stuff. If you treat it in that way it's an enjoyable romp. But in spite of them throwing everything into it bar the kitchen sink I'm left feeling that it's probably their safest, least surprising album ye...

Re: Beatles Remasters, Anyone?

I'd dismissed these [because of course I've already got all the studio albums already]. But this is now tempting me. I've never owned the Past Masters' stuff (I have some of the material from diverse sources). So maybe I'll pick those up to start with. Abbey Road is calling to me after reading some ...

Ahem. Austen. She may have only written the one book, several times over, but it was a bloody good one.

Re: This and That IV

In the wild for sure, if possible. I'd agree we need to do all we can to protect species - particularly where it is our environmental incursions which put their existence in danger. There's nothing more depressing than seeing a caged creature living out a miserable existence, but sometimes I do thin...

You're probably too young to be speaking in baby-talk, so I'll steer it back slightly:

Re: This and That IV

It is indeed ironic that the generation gap with comics seems to have been reversed in recent years. I can't blame the younger generation for that - most of the films taken as individual examples are now far more interesting (and usually well-written) than the comic-books themselves. The massive exc...

Re: Question YES or NO

That sounds interesting. A classic Yes line-up, technically the first with just those five since 1978. Would that mean classic-Yes sounding material though?? No - that would be the Keys to Ascension stuff. Personally I'd be disappointed if Yes were to d an album that sounded 'pretty much like' any ...

Re: Question YES or NO

As I understand it Alan White recently confirmed that both Jon and Rick would be back in 2010. Steve has also said that both Yes and Asia would record in 2010 as well. Now that does sound promising - can you tell us when and where you saw these reports? I'm certainly hoping they're true. The curren...
