Re: Album/CD release date game
Okey... this is probably way off mark, but I have to try: Troggs with " Love is all around "? I think they released that one in late '68 and finally got recognition when the song was used in the movie "Notting Hill". Albeit that it was a cover version in the movie... but let me add - quite by chanc...

he has a legendary status among Asiafans, does JY, being the only keyboardist other than Downes to feature in the Band. I confess to not being to familiar with his work, but it would be interesting to see if he has anything to say about Greenslade & where they're at now..

Well, it's been a great series, Coffee! Thank you. there's not a lot out there about Greenslade is there? Wikipedia has a very limited entry & points to 'the' greenslade website: http://www.angelfire.com/music4/greenslade/index.html but the last on there seems to date from 2002.. Dave G seems to hav...

Re: Album/CD release date game
ok; now this could be easy or difficult! Recorded in September/October '68, this was released in November '68 (great year for music!). It's largely a cult favourite, despite the profile of its oft curmudgeonly singer - with no significant label backing, it failed to achieve significant mainstream su...

I always 'dug' the covers (Roger Dean - what's not to like?!) but I can never recall their music, it doesnt stick in my mind.. Another one to check out! PHew, Coffee, your prog retrospective is leaving me exhausted!! so much to catch up on!
Are they still going after their 'restart' in 2000?

Re: Album/CD release date game
Nope! Although I think (but don't quote me on this) Moody Blues were the first "rock" band to use a full orchestra when recording an album. The one I was looking for here was first to record a Live album with full orchestra! And the answer is... Deep Purple! The album (of which I also gave a hint i...

This is one AMAZING song from the early Yes, so in tune with many 'green' themes today & such a great tune.. I like it all but especially the guitar/organ duel that ends the song..

The classic line up is certainly touring again (including Steve Hillage, who i always thought was a GREAT guitarist). So I wouldnt be surprised if they're going to record something.. I like the 'stoned muppets' quote! Very good! Saw them on the Zero to Infinity tour - in great form... & the Zero to ...

Tend to agree that the Symphonic Tour was great, with the orchestral version of Gates. I enjoyed the OYE tour, cos it was a long time since we'd seen them live in the UK..

The Sabs, ah of course - good one!

Re: YES & ASIA Tour
Steve's comments on NFTE pretty much confirm the 60-90minutes per band, which is a dang shame cost it means a VERY short Yes set.. So what would we like to see in it? Lets start with Owner (get it out of the way.. Kind of links to the Asia era anyway) then move on to SSOTS Parallels To be over Astra...

hmm, it seems Gary Green, Malcolm Mortimore and Kerry Minnear will be doing a show as 'Three Friends' playing Gentle Giant songs in the UK in a place near Brighton.. Sounds really interesting. Might have to check it out!

'Just a Minute' - silly BBC Radio Quiz, where a panel of 4 comedians have to talk for one minute on a variety of random topics with no hesitation, deviation or repetition.. Its been going for something like 50 years!
