Re: Alice Cooper dis's Yes on his radio show

Alright, here's the real deal. I have a good friend who is an intern for the Alice Cooper show. He works here in New York. I asked him about this situation and he told me that almost nothing Cooper says is original. He has writers that decide almost every word that comes out of his mouth. So Cooper...

Re: Alice Cooper dis's Yes on his radio show

O dear... Yes being dissed from Alice Cooper is like Jay Z saying Motzart didn't have a clue about music. Last I checked Alice didn't have half the musical legacy YES left us and future generations. It irk's me to see one musician go after another... Wait, did I say musician, sorry Vince get a clue...

Re: Is there a yes album that hasn`t worn well with you?

Hang on there Amy! Wait a cotton-picking minute, that's not fair! Chris Squire has a Christmas album of carol toons to rock music (or summit); Jon Anderson is playing live with the School of Rock (when there's enough demand and he's 'on-planet'); Steve Howe is playing part time with one of the UK's ...

Kinda surprised this hasn't been received far better than it has to date. Sure, without Bonzo, it ain't the same but it's close enough for horsehoes in my book. I am only vaguely interested in this and I am a big Led Zep fan. There will be 14,500 seats available with the vast proportion finally bei...

4. I really dig track 8 too Look Inside. It's got a Led Zep vibe from the point 1 min 25 secs (at least in the background rhythm - can't think of the track, erm maybe). Big orchestra bit +plus John Bonham big drum feel. Huge wall of sound on this one too. It's Kashmir that it reminds me of: staccat...

I 'found' Eric Johnson through the Guitar Player magazine and picked up Ah Via Musicom while on holiday in Santa Barbara in 1989. What can you say about him that hasn't already been said? His technique is flawless, his tone divine and his lack of public acclaim criminal. That said there's also somet...

Thanks.

I do what I love doing, making music. I don't think about it, I just let it flow. If influences from my life {which YES has been a big part} slip in it's part of the process. It was my YES influences that actually lead YES to me in the first place, I did not seek them out lol. if it works for them ...

Well as someone who doesn't own an Elvis album I can say I think his work is incredibly overrated too. I don't dispute he had an impact socially -- so did the Sex Pistols for that matter, but we don't generally laud them for their musical worth do we? As a catalyst for bigger things the two share ce...

Interesting that you bring up that point regarding Brotherhood of Man. Upon the first several listens, that was my fav track, but upon closer scrutiny, I realized how derivative that song is. Not only OTSWOF, but also AYAI and TRSOG are themed in there. That's one of my criticisms of current prog--...

Good call -- Yessongs. Amazing energy. Yes live in the 70s was something to behold.

Shame the same can't be said of the 2000 tours. Too slow and lacklustre for me I am afraid.

Re: If you had to get rid of 3 Yes albums..

I felt Magnification was a boring album. There was no song that blew me away or stuck with me as they had in other albums. Personally, I just felt it was sketches with an orchestra. Yes is an orchestra by themselves. It felt as if the music for me was being led by the orchestra, not Yes driven as w...

You shouldn't be surprised that they talked I don't think they really ever STOPPED talking. They just didn't talk much. Cheers Mr Miz! Thanks for the clarification...
