sorry about that fuck up. The lamb is their best, IMO, period. The lyrics are gritty, raw, and unbridled. they lost the prissiness on their earlier efforts. I`m not saying anything bad about those efforts, but `The lamb is a totally different ballgame I love so much. and there is a wealth of musical...

Tony Banks deserves alot of credit for being the main musical force behind genesis; He held the lion`s share of the songwriting with Genesis. I think many of the melodies written for The lamb were his and he helped shape it musically. That`s not taking away from Rutherford`s , collins, and Hackett`s...

Eric puts it much better eloquently than I could. I have really tried hard to like this album, but it just doesn`t do it for me. some of the lyrics are dumb, for sure and I`m not impressed by Neal Morse`s singing voice. Peter gabriel, or Phil Collins(the musician before he turned pap star)he is not....

This is absolutely one of the best rock albums of all time and Genesis` best. They came close to matching the brilliance of this album with `A Trick of The Tail'(Pablum Phil`s first album where he sung and had not turned into an arrogant, preening, self -aggrandizing rooster who was so full of himsel...

If you are talking about underrated guitarists, what about Brian May of Queen? His guitar sound was a fundamental part of the `Queen sound', and I don`t think Queen would have been the same band without him, even with the late, great Freddie Mercury. And what about Terry Kath???? The late and long f...

You are talking to a major ELP fan here. In the classic albums thread, I nominated this one. Enerson has always written music from a `classical' point of view. Like a bad turd, I think it stinks and it smacks of elitism. Obviously, this is a desparation measure by the band to draw in more money. If they didn`t squander their savings in the first place, they wouldn`t be in the position they are in now. So, as a fan, if I wanted to speak to one of the band m...

It`s been a while since I started a thread on Yestalk. My creativity has been as dead as Dillinger(famed American outlaw). So what song fits you to a tee? The Strawbs were one truly, underrated band. They deserve better than being best known as a band Rick Wakeman left for Yes.
