Six Degrees of Jon Anderson, pt.2

It's BAAAACK!
I'm sure many of you remember how to play this game, but since we have many new members, let's review, shall we?

Basically this is based on the popular party game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon", whereby you try to connect any other actor to Kevin bacon in six steps (or less).

Now, with Jon Anderson, it would obviously be any other performer. Please do try to keep it to performers in the music industry, which is a ground rule I didn't make clear last time around. Also, please keep all links within the boundaries of music-working relationships. The last time we had posts like "so and so is the cousin of... who worked on a book with... that was at the wedding of Jon Anderson"! That will not be allowed this time.

Let me give you an example: David Bowie. Now this is a fairly easy one with two possible paths - David Bowie worked on Space Oddity with Rick Wakeman who was/is in Yes with Jon. Or - David bowie worked on Under Pressure with Queen, who worked on Innuendo with Steve Howe, who was/is in Yes with Jon.

The one who gets the correct linkage gets to post the next one (in cases where there are more than one possible route, as in the example, all correct answers will be accepted).

Now that we've got the basic idea AND the rules, I'll start you off;

Aynsley Dunbar (drummer)

Aynsley Dunbar played with Frank Zappa. Chester Thompson also played with Zappa on drums, and he played with Genesis, as replacement for Bill Bruford. Bill was in Yes with Jon Anderson.

I don't know if this is correct, otherwise I didn't understand the game...(?)

Actually, there's a more direct link.

After Steve Howe and Keith West left Tomorrow, they formed a band WITH Aynsley Dunbar, Ronnie Wood (bass) and Nicky Hopkins (keyboards). There are 2 EMI demo's that were released recently - The Visit and She.

It's possible that Twink appears on these cuts also, but I'm not positive.

Wow! You're BOTH right, though Ed DID get the most direct route, Astral posted first, so, if you would like, you get to come up with the next one. If not, you may defer to Ed.

BTW, on my copy of the compilation "Tomorrow Featuring Keith West", which includes the West/Howe/Dunbar tracks, it does not list Twink as part of that particular grouping.

Well, it's not the link I was thinking of. You said Chris Farlowe worked with Jimmy Page. I looked in my books "Rock Family Trees" & "More Rock Family Trees" by Pete Frame, amd couldn't find a link between Farlowe and Page. Can you tell me when and in what capacity they worked together? If so, then you are correct, and I'll tell you the path I was thinking of.

You are correct! I forgot about Outrider, and I even have that disc! The link I was thinking of was - Chris Farlowe was in Chris Farlowe and The Thunderbirds with Carl Palmer, who was in Asia with Steve Howe, who was/is in Yes with Jon. But good going Astral on coming up with an alternate link! You get to pick the next one!

Paul sang for Mike and the Mechanics with Mike Rutherford. Bill Bruford toured with Genesis (and Mike R), and back to Jon.

Oh sh*t, I forgot about the music industry rule...
Oh well, someone should be able to get it anyway.
Besides the film insustry and the music industry are owned by the same evil cooperations!
If you want to try it still, it's kind of funny..

I looked through a list of his movies and didn't recognize any of them in a musical sense (I was hoping he'd been in a movie that Rabin scored or something), and I didn't feel like researching every one of his movies...i give up...

Anyone got another one?

OK - Here is my silly answer:

Jon Anderson did the tune 'Loved By the Sun' for the film Legend,
starring Tom Cruise,
who was in 'Eyes Wide Shut',
directed by Stanley Kubrick,
who also directed 'A Clockwork Orange',
starring Malcom MacDowell as Alex.

I could do that if i knew a damned thing about movies. I love watching them and analyzing them but actors and actresses don't interest me much the way musicians do, maybe because I can more easily see how musicians express themselves...I don't really know. I need sleep...

Roger Waters did a tour in the 80's w/ Eric Clapton.
Eric Clapton appears on Beatles and George Harrison recordings.
Alan White played drums with John Lennon and George Harrison at one time.
Alan is in this group called ??? (Yes)
Jon happens to be the singer of this group!

It is correct, ofcourse. But I had a somewhat other line.

Roger and David Gilmour were in Pink Floyd. Gilmour produced and played on several Kate Bush records. Bush sang a duet with Peter Gabriel.
Now from Peter Gabriel there are a few lines availeble.
Bill Bruford was in Genesis, so was Peter.
Fripp and Levin played with Peter gabriel. Levin worked with ABWH, and Bruford was in King Crimson.
