I just watched Eyes Wide Open DVD Nr. 1 again and i enjoyed it a lot again :D

My Question is:

Was any overdubbing done to this dvd? I wonder where all the computersounds come from! and is it realy frip who does all the strings with the guitar??? and how does it work the adrians voice seems to have backroundvocals?

Fripp uses guitar synths, Adrian uses vocal harmonizers! Maybe there is overdubbing, but I don't think there is, because the DVD sounds basically the same (ie. nothing added) compared to when I saw them in 2003! :)
Guitar synths are a very cool instrument... I have one and I also have some of the sounds Fripp uses!

It makes the guitar into a synthesizer, basically! :D Which is why there's no real 'need' for a keyboard player in KC now!

Hey, Mr. Fripp if you read this, think about, using a mellotron at one of the next crimsonrecord/concert/projekct!

A mellotron and a violine ...

Pat Mastelotto generates a lot of sounds from his kit. He'll play a few beats and have it repeat as a loop while he's doing something else. Probably some prerecorded sounds as well.

Fripp and Belew both produce string sounds on the guitar but I think usually it's Fripp doing it, with the notable exception of Adrian playing the mellotron opening to Dinosaur.

As recently as just a few years ago, Robert still had FIVE mellotrons that he was trying to sell (including the one used on ITCOTCK), but last I heard he'd not found any buyers with a serious offer. I'd love to hear Rick put one to use, but since he torched his own years ago, perhaps he shouldn't be trusted with them.
