Are any of you fans of John McLaughlin's music? If you are, check out his site http://www.johnmclaughlin.com/index.html It says he'll be touring the US in September with a new band called 'The 4th Dimension'. I've never had the privilege of seeing John perform in concert but I will catch this show even if I have to travel across the country for it!

Yes, I'd enjoy this one....that is, if one can see his fingers in real-time motion! ; )

Jon should sit in, he enjoys the "4th Diminsion" as much as anyone I've ever heard of...

I was fortunate enough to have booked John McLaughlin and his Mahavishnu Orchestra around 1973-74 at the university I attended. Had first 5 row tickets (a benefit for being on the "Event Committee"...and free ticketsat that...lol)

I would love to see this one....

Last night, I saw the Mahavishnu Project - god, awesome. The guitarist, Glenn Alexander (http://www.glennalexander.com/) is a friend of mine and Alan's, and sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo talented, he knocked everyone's socks off, including the socks of those wearing only sandals.
It's really most excellent music.

I saw a couple of the Mahavishnu Project's videos on YouTube. I especially enjoyed their rendition of 'Dawn'. This group seems to take the fast paced, high energy Maha Orchestra songs and slow them down + add interesting feeling to them. Very cool.

John has posted some tour dates on his website for the September show finally! Anyone close enough to catch him?

If anybody is interested, I created some fan forums for John McLaughlin, since prior to now, none existed.

The URL is http://www.jmForums.net

Cheers!
