It's been a hellish week for me. Hurricane Katrina has sorrowed me so. Devasted the city I love - New Orleans. Demolished Southern Mississippi and parts of Alabama. I grew up on the North Shore - just 25 miles North of New Orleans. I spent many a day and night there. Wonderful city. Still waiting to hear from my relatives and friends from New Orleans and the North Shore. Katrina hit my area as well. She produced some strong gusts. Not much damage. I did lose a tree in my backyard.

Got The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway last night.
Trying to read Gabriel's weird short story with magnifying glass, as if I might figure out the story behind this epic album.

Read it a bunch of times, and if you can get your hands on the LP, read it off the inside cover...much easier. Then when you're done, just listen to the thing and forget most of what you read. Oooo, enjoy!!

Listening recently to Zep's "When the Levee Breaks", Zep III, Graffitti, etc.
All those bluesy slide tunes............
Watched more (is it avoidable?) coverage of the disaster. Unbelievable more I hear.
Getting more into the TAO.
I have to work today.

well, for my adopted "homes" of NYC.....and Hilton Head Island.....
Just got through watching Andre Agassi (35 yrs old) win a 5 set match
at the US Open Tennis tournament to get to the FINALS tomorrow.....
I used to go to the US Open every year in NYC and I once worked for Rod Laver (a two time grand slam winner) where I got "paid" to play tennis by day and party by night at Hilton Head.....lol....
I have one of Rod's rackets down here in The Crimson Room...

any game that uses the word "Love" in it to keep score is fun.....

Right now I'm just farting around, sitting around playing games on my laptop while my husband starts his first day as a road patrol deputy. I always said I'd rather be a cop than be married to one. Now I have both.

Granted, he's not going to stay in road patrol ... he'll be working on the "paddy wagon" ... we're not supposed to call it that anymore, but that's what it is. He worked transportation at the jail for most of the 5 1/2 years he worked at the jail, so it's not as if he doesn't know how to do the job. It's the road patrol thing I'm worried about.

It could be worse. But I'm still worried about him!

Had the flu since last week. Took TheraFlu for a few days, and man, it felt good. Then it dried up my sinuses because i took too much and it gave me eye-strain due to relaxed muscles around eye from the anti-histamine.

Vow: No more politics for me

Had to "put down" one of the other Yestalkers that needed a thorough reality check. Fortunately, I now make a vow to avoid those types of discussions here. Almost got "lynched". :jestera:

The power outage in LA was caused by some workman who cut the "wrong wire" says local TV news. Rumor was, a guy was just finishing his chichimanga and nachos, swigged a beer, and saw a chick with silicone enhancements in-line skating by the worksite on the way to an audition for another reality show; she dropped the script, bent over.. and that's where the prob began. :jestera:

Perpectual Changer, I wouldn't want to work as a policeman, myself. I don't think they'd take me.

Today, is a typical day. Have worked creating a database for my business.
Watched this weird DVD last night called Dark City. It has William Hurt.

ATM I'm at work, eating lunch, and posting out here! Before that I was piecing together some Access queries to generate the SQL I need to embed into a Crystal Report - sounds fascinating, doesn't it??? :D

Fascinating is not what this day is about.
I got a can of Pringles as payment for watering a neighbor's plants all week. Put them in a sandwich. I had vowed off junk food, but they were free, so what the hell.
I am supposed to finish some work today, but when you work for yourself, you provide the motivation.

Just listening to Super Furry Animals Live from 2002 while my 4 year old watches GOZILLA with Matthew Broderick.....
Took Bethany and Izabella to doctor for sinus infections today, oh the joy of ragweed season here in Middle Tennessee...if you don't sound nasal and twangy when you move here, you will eventually...why do you think all the "country music" stars live here, gotta keep the sound alive........etc....

I was off work today and it was for my own protection...we have over 600 "Romance Novel" writers in the hotel for a convention,
some "Christian Fiction" writers as well.......heaving bosoms abound......lol

It reminded me of the Monty Python/Holy Grail scene with Sir Lancealot in the castle of the sirens..."pick me, take me and me and me"......
more like "run away, run away".......

right now I am so sick of politics and finger pointing
and stupid uneducated posts that I dont think I like coming here anymore

and I dont think any one really cares anyway what I say

i get pidgeoned holed and baited by people who dont have a clue

what I am about
and it pisses me off
it also pisses me of that some (not all) people think I am trying to make excuses for my statements just to avoid being banned

like I care anymore
frankly I am frustrated with this site and people that assume everyone agrees with them
as long as they keep repeating the same thing often enough

I am tired of defending free speach while so many are in a hurry to give it away for a little more false security
which translates into spending OUR money on rediculous wasteful and unconstitutional actions

I am sick of debating history with people who dont know who Stalin was

I dont feel part of the Yestalk family anymore and I think I should say so

i may not have articulated my reasons well but the bottom line is
I guess i dont belong here

thats how i am feeling ATVM

A bit confused here. I can't really tell which "side" you are on. In your post about "What a great president we have", you seemed initially to be against the Bush Administration, then defended him, then agreed with Tomfoolory and Gary saying I had gone too far by classifying/stereotyping rednecks being located in certain parts of the country, this knowledge of mine being gained empirically.
I may not have read your posts carefully, but it seems to me at least that you are flip-flopping or...what's your overall perspective?
I've posted some controversial stuff on Yestalk before and pretty much set myself up; that's essentially because people need a punching bag, which is human nature. And , I actually like being a clown and saying controversial things, but I do it half-seriously, except for solemn matters like the USA starting a pre-emptive war.
A lot of people come here after work and, not being able to slam into their co-workers, bosses or families, find an easy target here. And not everybody has the time or breadth of consciousness and attention span to pay attention to everything everyone posts.
Overall, you gotta just take everything with a grain of salt. It's all pretty funny when you look at it, and if you were at a party or a bar or some social event, you would probably naturally gravitate towards Yestalkers because they are "of your kind", meaning you'd most likely feel at home with them; although they are rather reserved and taciturn at pre-concert gatherings, as I've experienced. Yes fans are a rather sensitive lot, childish at times but essentially innocuous. How intimidated can you feel by a person who quotes lyrics to "Your Move" or "Awaken"?
At age 41 I've realized that there is no authority I can respect entirely. Human beings are not much more than animals that can do algebra, at this stage of evolution on Earth.
Another thing you might consider is that most people are neither for nor against you, but rather, thinking of themselves!

I wouldn't be so loquacious in a bar or public place. See Internet allows you to be more outgoing than you actually are in real life.....

well you took the time to write this out and ask me so I'll answer you
Greenglade's Frog wrote:A bit confused here. I can't really tell which "side" you are on. In your post about "What a great president we have", you seemed initially to be against the Bush Administration,
I am not for or against any "administration" or really a political party as I feel a certin amount of corruption goes with the territory
I can defend certin policies the Bush administration has and I can strongly disagree with them if thats flip flopping to you then so be it
to me its called having an open mind and judging each situation seperately.

then defended him, then agreed with Tomfoolory and Gary saying I had gone too far by classifying/stereotyping rednecks being located in certain parts of the country, this knowledge of mine being gained empirically.

in all reveraence to your knowlege I dont believe in grouping people together quite so easily though there is some truth to the geographic point you make , you mix it in with the exact kind of rhetoric you seem to be against IE name calling and prdjudices etc. so in effect you become the thing you are railing against.I was pointing out the double standard in your post.

I may not have read your posts carefully,
obviously
most of my posts were quotes and tounge in cheek at that]
as well as the imposibility to sway someone with a set opinion especially in a forum about a band and their music .

but it seems to me at least that you are flip-flopping or...what's your overall perspective?

politically -LIBERTARIAN ;SOCIALLY LIBERAL FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE.

SPIRITUALLY ; ALL ROADS LEAD HOME.

I've posted some controversial stuff on Yestalk before and pretty much set myself up; that's essentially because people need a punching bag, which is human nature. And , I actually like being a clown and saying controversial things, but I do it half-seriously, except for solemn matters like the USA starting a pre-emptive war.

I wont restart the war argument -thats all played out
but clearly I was being prevokotive as well even about solemn subjects
in order to make my larger point
you cant change peoples minds and arguing politics especially in this forum has allways been an excercise in futility my quotes were from people accross the political social economic and religious spectrum with my own spice added
I had heard david Bowie interviewed once where he said that people would ask him questions and he would quote james dean or nietchze
because the nature of the questions were so rediculous to begin with
my underlying point is that people dont have a very good grasp of history
and its not just the 20 somethings.

I knowingly set my self up in those posts since I was being hit with very rude and sort of assuming without knowing statements. I decided not to play the game but rather innudate the thread with factoids from accross the board if it was confusing to you then it worked!

A lot of people come here after work and, not being able to slam into their co-workers, bosses or families, find an easy target here. And not everybody has the time or breadth of consciousness and attention span to pay attention to everything everyone posts.
Overall, you gotta just take everything with a grain of salt. It's all pretty funny when you look at it,
its totally funny
I didnt expect everyone to undertand I was being part of the joke but I was feeding the fire hoping it would burn out

and if you were at a party or a bar or some social event, you would probably naturally gravitate towards Yestalkers because they are "of your kind", meaning you'd most likely feel at home with them; although they are rather reserved and taciturn at pre-concert gatherings, as I've experienced. I am not intimidated at all -and would love to hang out with yestalkers

At age 41 I've realized that there is no authority I can respect entirely.
THAT WAS MY ENTIRE POINT!

Hope... I'm sorry but I don't want to be an Emperor - that's not my business - I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible, Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that.We all want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the earth is rich and can provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful.
But we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little: More than machinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me I say "Do not despair".
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress: the hate of men will pass and dictators die and the power they took from the people, will return to the people and so long as men die [now] liberty will never perish...
Soldiers - don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you - who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you as cattle, as cannon fodder.
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts. You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don't hate - only the unloved hate. Only the unloved and the unnatural. Soldiers - don't fight for slavery, fight for liberty.
In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written " the kingdom of God is within man " - not one man, nor a group of men - but in all men - in you, the people.
You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy let's use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age and security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie. They do not fulfil their promise, they never will. Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people. Now let us fight to fulfil that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness.
Soldiers - in the name of democracy, let us all unite!
Look up! Look up! The clouds are lifting - the sun is breaking through. We are coming out of the darkness into the light. We are coming into a new world. A kind new world where men will rise above their hate and brutality.
The soul of man has been given wings - and at last he is beginning to fly. He is flying into the rainbow - into the light of hope - into the future, that glorious future that belongs to you, to me and to all of us. Look up. Look up

Charlie Chaplin

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall - think of it, always.

OK, dude, Yesman90215, you've made your point.
I can like see where you are coming from.
Point is you are oversenstive, and in this place there be lots of idiots.
One thing i really dig is you mispelling type of enlightenment.
At this point you have entered into Greenglades Frog's realm of knowledge, and i get your drift.
Count yourself one of my disciples.

Tales From Topographic Oceans
Yes

The Revealing Science of God
Anderson/Howe/Squire/Wakeman/White

Shrutis: The Revealing Science of God can be seen as an ever-opening flower in which simple truths emerge examining the complexities and magic of the past and how we should not forget the song that has been left to us to hear. The knowledge of God is a search, constant and clear.

Dawn of light lying between a silence and sold sources,
Chased amid fusions of wonder, in moments hardly seen forgotten,
Coloured in pastures of chance dancing leaves cast spells of challenge,
Amused but real in thought, we fled from the sea whole.
Dawn of thought transfered through moments of days undersearching earth
Revealing corridors of time provoking memories, disjointed but with purpose,
Craving penetrations offer links with the self instructors sharp
And tender love as we took to the air, a picture of distance.
Dawn of our power we amuse redescending as fast as misused
Expression, as only to teach love as to reveal passion chasing
Late into corners, and we danced from the ocean.
Dawn of love sent within us colours of awakening among the many
Won't to follow, only tunes of a different age.
As the links span our endless caresses for the freedom of life everlasting.

Talk to the sunlight caller
Soft summer mover distance mine.

Called out a tune but I never saw the face
Heard but not replaced
I ventured to talk, but I never lost my place
Cast out a spell rendered for the light of day
Lost in lights array
I ventured to see, as the sound began to play

What happened to this song we once knew so well
Signed promise for moments caught within the spell
I must have waited all my life for this
Moment moment

The future poised with the splendour just begun
The light we were as one
And crowded through the curtains of liquid into sun

And for a moment when our world had filled the skies
Magic turned our eyes
To feast on the treasure set for our strange device

What happened to wonders we once knew so well
Did we forget what happened surely we can tell
We must have waited all our lives for this
Moment moment moment

Starlight, movement, reasons
Release forward
Tallest rainbow
Sun shower seasons
Life flower reasons

They move fast, they tell me,
But I just can't believe that I can feel it
There's someone to tell you,
Amid the challenge we look around in unison with you

Getting over overhanging trees
Let them rape the forest
Thoughts would send our fusion
Clearly to be home

Getting over wars we do not mean
Or so it seems so clearly
Sheltered with our passion
Clearly to be home
They move fast, they tell me,
But I just can't believe they really mean to
There's someone, to tell you,
And I just can't believe our song will leave you
Skyline teacher
Warland seeker
Send out poison
Cast iron leader

And through the rhythm of moving slowly
Sent through the rhythm work out the story
Move over glory to sons of old fighters past.
Young christians see it from the beginning
Old people feel it, that's what they're saying.
Move over glory to sons of old fighters past.

They move fast, they tell me,
But I just can't believe they really mean to.
There's someone, to tell you
A course towards a universal season.

Getting over overhanging trees
Let them rape the forest
They might stand and leave them
Clearly to be home
Getting over wars we do not mean
We charm the movement suffers
Call out all our memories
Clearly to be home

We've moved fast
We need love
A part we offer is our only freedom

What happened to this song we once knew so well
Signed promise for moments caught within the spell
We must have waited all our lives for this
Moment moment

Past present movers moments we'll process the future, but only through him we know, send flowered rainbows
Apiece apart chased flowers of the dark and lights of songs to follow and show all we feel for and know of
Cast round
You seekers of the truth accepting that reason will relive and breath and hope and chase and love
For you and you and you.

The Remembering: High the Memory
Anderson/Howe/Squire/Wakeman/White

Suritis: The Remembering. All our thoughts, impressions, knowledge, fears, have been developing for millions of years. What we can relate to is our own past, our own life, our own history. Here, it is especially Rick's keyboards which bring alive the ebb and flow and depth of our mind's eye; the topographic ocean. Hopefully we should appreciate that given points in time are not so significant as the nature of what is impressed on the mind, and how it is retained and used.

As the silence of seasons on we relive abridge sails afloat
As to call light the soul shall sing of the velvet sailors course on
Of the velvet sailors course on
Shine or moons send me memories trail over days of forgotten tales
Course the compass to offer into a time that we've all seen on
Into a time that we've all seen on

High the memory carry on
While the moments start to linger
Sail away among your dreams
The strength regains us in between our time
The strength regains us in between our time
As we shall speak to differ also the ends meet the river's son
So the ends meet the river's son

Ours the story shall we carry on
And search the forest of the sun
We dream as we dream! Dream as one
And I do think very well
That the song might take you silently
They move fast
They tell me
There's someone rainbow
Alternate tune

In the days of summers so long
We danced as evenings sang their song
We wander out the days so long
And I do feel very well
That the evenings take you
Silently. They move round
Sunlight, seeing ground
Whispers of clay
Alternate ways

Softer messages bringing light to a truth long forgotten on
As we shall speak to differ also the ends meet the river's son
So the ends meet the river's son

I reach over and the fruit of life stands still
Stand awhile we search our past we start anew
The music sings of love you knew
We walk around the story
Out in the city running free
Sands of companions sides that be
The strength of the meeting lies with you
Wait all the more regard your past
School gates remind us of our class
Chase all confusion away with us

Stand on hills of long forgotten yesterdays
Pass amongst your memories told returning ways
As certain as we walk today
We walk around the story
Out in the city running free
Days pass as seconds turn they key
The strength of the moment lies with you

Don the cap and close your eyes imagine all the glorious challenge
Iron metal cast to others
Distant drums

Force the bit between the mouth of freedom didn't we learn to fly
Remember to sail the skies
Distant suns
Will we reach
Winds allow
Other skylines
Other skylines to hold you

Relayer
All the dying cried before you
Relayer
We've rejoiced in all their meaining
Relayer
We advance we retrace our stories

Like a dreamer all our lives are only lost begotten changes
We relive in seagull's pages
Outwards ways.

Things are all in colours and the size of others shall send you forward
Arranged to sail you toward
A peace of mind
Will we reach
Winds allow
Other skylines
Other skylines to hold you

Relayer
All the passion spent on one cross
Relayer
Sail the futile wars they suffer
Relayer
We advance we retrace our story, fail safe now

Stand on hills of long forgotten yesterdays
Pass amongst your memories told returning ways
As certain as we walk today
Press over moments leaving you
Out in the city running free
Days pass as seconds turn the key
The strength of the moment lies with you
Out tender outward lights of you
Shine over mountains make the view
The strength of you seeing lies with you

Ours entrance we surely carry on
And change the passing of the sun
We don't even need to try we are one

And I do think very well
As the truth unfolds you
Silently
They move time
Rainbows
Sunlight
Alternate tune
Alternate tune

Rainbows
Soft light
Alternate view
Sunlight
Tell me
Someone
Alternate view
Alternate view, surely, surely

The Ancient: Giants Under the Sun
Anderson/Howe/Squire/Wakeman/White

Puranas: The Ancient probes still further into the past beyond the point of remembering. Here Steve's guitar is pivotal in sharpening reflection on the beauties and treasures of lost civilisations, Indian, Chinese, Central American, Atlantean. These and other people left an immense treasure of knowledge.

As one with the knowledge and magic of the source
Atuned to the majesty of music
They marched as one with earth

Sol, Dhoop
Sun
Ilios
Naytheet
Ah Kin
Saule
Tonatiuh
Qurax
Gunes, Grian
Surje
Ir
Samse

So the flowering creativity of life wove its web face to face with the shallow
And their gods sought out and conquered
Ah Kin

Do the leaves of green stay greener through the autumn
Does the colour of the sun turn crimson white
Does a shadow come between us in the winter
Is the movement really light

And I heard a million voices singing
Acting to the story that they had heard about
Does one child know the secret and can say it
Or does it all come out along without you
Along without you
Along without you

Where does reaon stop and killing just take over
Does a lamb cry out before we shoot it dead
Are there many more in comfort understanding
Is the movement in the head

And I heard a million voices singing
Acting to the story that they had heard about
Does one child know the secret and can say it
Or does it all come out along without you
Along without you
Along without you

Ritual: Nous Sommes Du Soleil
Anderson/Howe/Squire/Wakeman/White

Tantras: The ritual seven notes of freedom to learn and to know the ritual of life. Life is a fight between sources of evil and pure love. Alan and Chris present and relay the struggle out of which comes a positive source. Nous sommes du soleil. We are of the sun. We can see.

Nous sommes du soleil. We love when we play.
Nous sommes du soleil. We love when we play.
Open doors we find our way
We look we see we smile
Surely daybreaks cross our path
And stay maybe a while

Let them run, let them chase
Let them hid between
Constant doors will open eyes
As life seems like
Life seems like a
Fight, fight, fight

Maybe I'll just sing awhile
And then give you a call
Maybe I'll just say hello
And say maybe that's all
Hurry home as love is true
Will help us through the night

Till we're coming home again
Our life seems like
Life seems like a
Fight, fight, fight

Catch as we look and use the passions that flow
As we try we continue
We receive all we venture to give

Maybe we'll just stand awhile
And surely we can call
Dreams are said to blossom courage
Constant to the soul

Change we must as surely time does
Changes call the course
Held inside we enter daybreaks
Asking for asking for
The source
The source
The source
Sent as we sing our music's total retain

As we try and consider
We receive all we venture to give
All we say is our
Soul constant sight listener
We won't tender our song clearer
Till we sail
Then I will be there
And I will be there
As clearer companions
Shall call to be near you
They move around tell me that
Move around surely sing
As they don't seem to matter at all
At all at all ...

Hold me my love, hold me today, call me round
Travel we say, wander we choose, love tune
Lay upon me, hold me around lasting hours
We love when we play

We hear a sound and alter our returning
We drift the shadows and course our way on home
Flying home
Going home

Look me my love sentences move dancing away
We join we receive
As our song memories long hope in a way
Nous sommes du soleil
Hold me around lasting ours
We love when we play
Nous sommes du soleil
Nous sommes du soleil
Nous sommes du soleil
