The Stranglers - Prog?

I am a bit of a Stranglers fan (along side prog rock bands) and have always found albums like 'Black and White, 'The Raven'and 'The Men in Black' to be experimental, even progressive. Definately not punk!

Just wondered what others think?

As they are a local band to me originally (they were called the "Guildford Stranglers") and used to see them in some of the local Pubs they weren't always punk they did a whole different assortment

I always thought they jumped on the punk bandwagon after it got going. Definitely not a punk band per se. But who could blame them? May hay while the sun shines they say.
