TMV I'm wondering why the Yestalk traffic has slowed to a grinding halt.

TVM I'm thinking it's because I've mostly shut up lately. Not a lot of shit stirring going on. Get cracking Eric!

TVm, I`m busy scratching my pr....
Nahhhhhh!!! We won`t go there!!! Just a little toilet bowl humor.
Let me start over. TVM, I`m just cruising the threads; a rare moment for me nowadays. I`ve been studying for up and coming civil service exams. Instead of bitching and moaning to you guys about my job , I`m deciding to do something about it. Working for Fed Ex is a young man`s job; I won`t tell you how old I am, but i`m still a young pup. The hours have been killer lately and the stress does wear on you. Perhaps, soon, this problem will be remedied.

Right now I'm staying up too late trying to catch up with you guys here, I'm glad to have my computer back, I was getting sad about it, but it turn out it was a keyboard problem and not a virus after all. It must be those little girls playing Harry Potter and Barbie games on here, spilling stuff. (Or it could be my coffee) Anyway, we found a keyboard in the garage to use while we are waiting for a new one, so I am back.

The concert was awesome, no matter what anyone says by the way!

Welcome back Jo,

My working life in computers is just like that, we can go nuts looking at all the ins and outs of where the software got corrupt. Then it turns out to be a hardware issue. Or the other way around. Ugh. Like my first boss always said, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it. Any way, glad you all figured it out.

Celebrate the moment, as it turns into one more.

ATVM I'm cruising the boards attempting to think of a stimulating thread to start. Can't come up with anything yet.

@TVM, I am contemplating purchasing the new Pearl Jam CD. I had somewhat lost faith in them but some of the new stuff sounds most enticing. No where near the majesty of YES, but some of the power is definitely there.

Thanks Jack and Christine.

I listened to alot of Pearl Jam this summer because my youngest brother (not Yesdog) was over all the time playing them and most of all singing like Eddie Vedder. They grew on me, and I am almost...almost thinking of buying that cd as well N2.

I'm getting ready for my daughters big 9th birthday tommorrow!!!

Still think the First Pearl Jam is the best!!

Well, i've changed jobs! As of October 1st, I relocated from the rural location of South Mimms to the West of London. I'm now located in Imperial Colleges' Division of Medicine, at St Mary's Hospital in beautiful downtown Paddington. My view of fields and rabbits has been replaced by high-rise buildings, building sites and a rather grotty canal, and instead of a stressful drive to work, I have to put with the train and tube. Strangely, I feel more alert and awake, and my office mate is a real muso! So far, though, i've hardly been in, as i've had two weeks vacation, 2 3-day conferences in Spain and France, 2 days off sick with the lab cold and 1 day unable to get in 'cos of a tube strike! It should be fun, though, and i've gotta start empire building and get some more money to keep the work going ASAP.

So, if there are any molecular immunologists with an interest in viral infections out there, I could be after you!

Cheers,

Simon

PS: I've got a scanner now, so prepare yourself for a picture of Yours Truly pretty soon!

Congrats on your new job!

Well, my wife swears by Echinacea, Vit C and Zinc. And avoiding schoolchildren! Me, I just catch the usual viruses like everyone else, and try to wipe them out with vaccines in my professional life (or that's the theory anyway)...

Cheers,

Simon

SJeffs, what about the flu vaccine for someone like me, late 30's, with a chronic sinus infection, some people swear by it, others think it will make them sick. What do you think?

TVM I'm re-koop-erating from my kah-nekk surgery that kept me from the show in my home town but it was an absoulute necessity to get it done. I was really glad to make it to two shows this past summer tho. The band it just fantastic, that is really what I think Oh well... mustn't be on too long; be well everyone!
