Good Guys Unveils ``Experts'' Advertising Campaign
Monday November 18, 12:00 pm ET

Targeted Campaign Features Discriminating Electronics Enthusiasts from the Entertainment Industry Who Shop at Good Guys

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 2002--Good Guys (Nasdaq:GGUY - News), the largest specialty retailer of higher-end consumer entertainment electronics in the nation, today announced the launch of a targeted holiday advertising and branding campaign.

Featuring discerning electronics enthusiasts from the entertainment, sports and technology industries, the campaign underscores Good Guys' appeal to early adopters and tech-savvy consumers by reinforcing Good Guys as the place that people who value expert opinions go to for expert advice.

"Our goal for the experts campaign was to find the most discriminating consumer electronics shoppers -- those who rely on electronics as part of their profession -- and show them using their favorite products in their every day lives," said Cathy A. Stauffer, executive vice president of merchandising and advertising, Good Guys. "With the help of these experts from the entertainment industry and beyond, we are reminding customers that no matter how complicated all of the new digital and high-tech electronics gear might seem, Good Guys is there to provide reliable recommendations and help them pick the product that is right for them."

The multi-million dollar, cross-media campaign will appear as television, billboard, print and radio advertisements in all major markets in California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Developed by the Woo Agency in Culver City, CA, the campaign demonstrates how experts in their fields use the latest electronics from Good Guys in their daily lives. Participants in the campaign include:

Greg Gardiner, Cinematographer, Men in Black II(TM)
Joel Hynek, Visual Effects Supervisor, xXx(TM)
Joseph Middleton, Casting Director C.S.A., The Bourne Identity(TM)
Trevor Rabin, Composer, The Banger Sisters(TM)
David Stockhammer, Violist, Los Angeles Philharmonic

The television campaign features vignettes of these "experts" using their favorite electronics -- from digital camcorders to flat screen TVs to home theater systems -- in their home environment and often taking their affinity for the product, and their profession, to the extreme. The print and billboard advertisements also feature experts from the entertainment industry with the latest digital and high-tech products from Good Guys. The radio campaign features local radio, technology and sports personalities.

Shame it says Trevor Rabin, composer rather than Trevor Rabin, ex-Yes guitarist.

At least one Yes man is making a bit of money!
