Ultimate Yes Members Poll

Post: # 3652Post stevehoweistheMAN

I don't know if this has been done before, but for fun, I thought I'd try it, see how many people respond. Of course, there's always the ongoing debate of who's the better [insert instrument here] player between the many different lineups.

The premise: simply list which instumentalist you prefer. No ragging (if you can help it), not explanation, just your answer, and I want to poll the outcome and compile the ULTIMATE YES LINEUP.

Note: Some of the questions are quite obvious (like the first one) but I know SOMEONE is going to say "Why did you leave him off?"

Your choices:

Vocalist:

Jon Anderson or Trevor Horn

Guitarists:

Peter Banks, Steve Howe, Trevor Rabin, or Billy Sherwood

Keyboardist:

Tony Kaye, Rick Wakeman, Patrick Morazes, Geoff Downes, Igor Koroshev, or Tom Brislin

Drummer:

Bill Bruford or Alan White

And, of course, Chris Squire has remained bassist for all 35 years and counting. If you want to get picky, you could argue Tony Levin being in ABWH, but really folks...

Anways, have fun!

And, I'll start things off myself:

Vocalist: Jon Anderson
Guitarist: Steve Howe
Keyboardist: Rick Wakeman
Drummer: Alan White
Bassist: Chris Squire

And if that firelight, I could match the inner flame; sacred ships do sail the seventh age, and have always been here.

I'm a dreamer. I guess the perfect line-up is always:
Drums-me
Guitar-me
Bass-me
Keyboards-Timothy Leary
Vocals-Jon Anderson

Hmm, and here I thought I was the only one entertaining the idea of playing in the band!

So, lessee--
Drums-Alan
Bass-Chris
Guitar- Steve
Keys-Rick (and I)
Vocals-Jon (and I)

Part of my perfect plan, sure!!

Jon,Steve,Chris,Patrick, and Alan. Although I must admit in a fantasy world I wonder what Bruford would have added or deleted from the Relayer line up

Well, I LOVE the current lineup, so that would be my answer.

But, it would be fun to also hear Trevor on guitar, and Patrick on keys.

And yeah, can I be in there somewhere too? So I can MEET them all? I play a mean kazoo!

Ok, so far the votes go to:

1. Current Lineup (14)
2. "Fragile" Lineup (6)
3. "Relayer" Lineup (4)
4. Jon, Alan, Chris, Rick, Trevor (2)
5. Current Lineup+Trevor (1)

Current lineup is way ahead. If you couldn't vote between two instrumentalists (say Rick or Patrick) I gave each lineup a vote.

How long should we let this run for?

Keep on Voting!
