I don't own Drama because I didn't feel it was Yes at the time because Jon wasn't on it. Although, I would love to hear him sing anything, whatever he wants to sing is o.k. by me. All I know from Drama is "I am a camera" and I hated it.

Hey how can I resist?
You owe it to yourself to latch onto a Drama CD and give it a serious listen. I believe that you will be quite pleased and surpirsed with the overall quality. Drama is a Yes album, from start to finish, and after you have listened to it again, for the first time, you will thank me for enlightening you!

*sigh*
One of my great wishes would be seeing "Does It Really Happen?" live. The "suprise" coda from that song is such a fantastic riff, I would love to see what Steve and Rick could play over that luscious rhythm . . .
Perhaps stretch it out, turn it into a rave-up along the lines of "Starship Trooper?" Hey, it would make a much better closer than "Roundabout." Right?
Uh, the last two shows, I walked out in the middle of "Roundabout." If they close with "that song" on this tour, I'll do something dark and vengeful!
Why, I might boycott Beyond Records, and decide not to buy that new Motley Crue boxed set! I know, it will be a painful sacrifice, but I've a certain standard to uphold!

I sometimes wonder if the guys get tired of playing the same old songs. I always thought the OYE tour was our best chance to hear a Drama tune with Billy being so keen to do it. He convinced them to dust off Cinema afterall. With Alan saying that OTSWofF will be on the setlist this Summer could Yes finally be coming to grips with the fact to stay relevant they must a)play new material and b) dust off forgotten classics to stop from becoming a nostalgia act like so many of the other groups from the 70's. I think Wakeman is willing to play just about anything( he loved playing Owner on the Union tour) the same goes for the easy going Alan White. Steve seems more keen to playing the forgotten tunes like Turn of the Century,To Be Over, On the Silent Wings of Freedom etc but has an aversion to the Rabin years. Now if only we can get Jon and Chris into the fold to play the old stuff. I'm not coming down on Yes. Actually they have down really well the last couple of tours by playing RSOG,Ritual, Gates, America and new material. My idea would be for each member to choose one old song that has not been played live in the last 6-8 years and then the rest of the band has to play it with no veto power. We may not get any Drama material etc initially but we would be assured of songs that have not been played live in ages or have never been played before. It would be a great system of give and take. You have to play my song choice but I am willing to play what you pick as well with no questions asked and it doesn't mater if I played on the studio version or not.Look at it breaking down like this:
2002 tour
Steve - To be Over
Alan - Tempus Fugit
Rick - Mind Drive
Jon - Order of the Universe
Chris - It Can Happen
Throw in an epic or two, a YesMedley like they did in 1979, the standard stuff like ISAGP,ROUNDABOUT and a couple of new songs and you have a great Yesshow in the making. I think this would be a great way for the guys to challenge each other, give us interesting versions/interpretations of old songs and stay relevant. I would also like to see the guys doing another Yesmedley like they did in 1979 this would also let the guys to touch on some old songs as well. Then on the next tour the 5 previous chosen songs would be dropped and the guys would to have choose 5 different songs again with the same rules of no veto power applying as well. Eventually we would hear songs we never thought Yes would ever play live again especially all those Drama tunes we want Jon to sing on and Rick to play keys on....chris

There's no reason that Jon shouldn't sing tunes from DRAMA.
The record is something different from the rest of YES' works, no doubt. But for example I like the dominance of Chris Squire, bass-wise and vocal-wise: MACHINE MESSIAH e.g. is a great piece; very dark and very powerful. And to hear it with the vocal art of Jon makes this a surplus treat.
So there has been never a single doubt for me that DRAMA is YES-music and therefore also a part of YES' history. As well as ANDERSON, BRUFORD, WAKEMAN & HOWE. So why let these side-branches out?
Well, going through the postings in this thread I realize that I didn't exactly "invent the wheel" with my points - but I wanted to express my thoughts anyway.

Jo, I can't believe you have never heard Tempus Fugit. YOU MUST HEAR THIS SONG. Once you do you will realize that it's perfect for Jon.
If they do the happen song, Chris should sing it.
As for the chances of them doing any Drama this time around ... well, three of the five we have now participated in Drama ... so it could happen. (Oh, no, a Rabin song!) I think Machine Messiah, Tempus Fugit and the happen song (sorry Renato, I will not screw it up) are definite possibilities, though I would certainly prefer Tempus Fugit.

While I can't exactly put my finger on any one source, I am of the firm conviction that music from "Drama" will be played on this tour. Now, that's not to imply that we can expect anything more than just one number. I would think thatTempus Fugit would represent the "Drama" era very well.

O.k. you've all got me so curious and interested and I certainly don't want to miss out on enjoying every second of the concert as compeletly as possible...I am going to go out looking for Drama TODAY!
You just have to understand how upset I was at the time that my man Jon was not on the album. I couldn't believe that Chris Squire would make a Yes album without Jon and I was appalled. So, never bought it, ignored and turned the station when they played that dreadful camera song.
But, you have all opened my eyes to my lack of enlightenment, and I am going to find Drama and play it damn it, I will. I'll let you know what I think, and I will be thinking what is best for my Jon.
