I've always perceived the Countryside Alliance as, quite frankly, a pro-hunting organisation in barely concealed sheep's clothing. I have to wonder is Jon aware of the agenda (and it's hardly a secret) of this organisation?
I'm disappointed. Newbury's only a couple of hours away, and it's a cracking line up. But on principle it's a fucking great big "no" from me

Gee! Did they hunt the sheep in order to get their clothing?

Based on how you describe the Countryside Alliance, it sounds like a strange thing for Jon to be associated with - knowing what little I do of Jon, that is.
hope's as high as the sun today...

Hi all,
I am genuinely shocked to read this. I cannot believe that someone of Jon's perceived sensibilities would associate himself with this repulsive crowd.
Someone should have a quiet, or perhaps not so quiet, word with Mr Anderson about his choice of affiliations.

I used to be agnostic. These days I'm not so sure.

Why would someone with Jon Anderson's beliefs align himself with a pro-hunting group? It just doesn't make sense. I wonder if Bryan Ferry's petulant son will storm the stage at some point with his Hooray-Henry chums...and make a complete dick of himself again?

It works for me if Jon comes on stage with a "Ban fox hunting and the stuck up berks that support it" T-shirt on; gives a speech ridiculing these hooray Henries and then performs a set consisting of;
Then
Survival
Don't Kill The Fox
Otherwise I'm with the rest of you.

Do you think we should write to jonanderson.com asking him to reconsider?

According to sources close to Jon Anderson (posting over at Yes Fans and AGP), Jon isn't involved in this, wouldn't want to be, and anyway, will be elsewhere (Bermuda/Barbados mabye - can't recall) at the time of the event. The suggestion being that the web site details are wrong.
Breathe easy fellow Yesheads.
On a side note, I am rather annoyed the Countryside Alliance has been hijacked by the pro-hunt lobby and those who support it. As far as I am concerned there are many more important issues facing those of us in the countryside, and to have the focus put on hunting foxes is a waste of what could have been a useful public voice for simple countryfolk like me in the westcountry. Ho hum.

I can't believe Jon would attend something like this i really can't.
As has been pointed out, this countryside alliance lot support the killing of animals for man's pleasure so i for one will be giving this a wide berth along with listening to any of the above's work again.
It's no surprise seeing Mr Ferry there after his arrogant sons adventures in the house of commons a while back. It's just a shame they can't pin that guy down and let a field of foxes rip him apart and turn the tables on what he advocates. Nasty little piece of work !
