That's terrible OB1, nothing inside got damaged, but my husband got rearended while waiting for a light to change by someone who lost control. My 5 year old daughter was in the back seat, she is fine, just shaken. AS they waited for the police she was thirsty so my husband gave her some of his soda, she ended up spilling it in her eye (god knows how that happened?) So she starts crying she can't see and they are in the rain, and what a misery it must have been. Thank god everyone is o.k. I got freaked because just 2 weeks ago my neighbor got slammed at that exact intersection and died. I hugged my little girl real tight last night!!!

Hope you can get all your things fixed or replaced, what a pain!

Now I am going to take the little one to swimming, I just got back from Borders where I finally purchased the book "Close to the Edge"

it was not as loud as I would have expected.
the sky was grey, and it was lightly raining, I had not yet heard any thunder, or seen any flashes, just typical rainy weather.
there is an 80 ft pine tree just about 6 feet from the big wondows.
we are on a hill on the edge of the lake, so this tree is the highest thing around. it sounded like about 10 fast gunshots (if the gun was right next to your ear, in a gymnasium!) and with every loud pop there was a bright explosion with sparks flying from the tree from the top down to right outside the window, at that point the last pop created a huge flash that jumped from the tree to the house, then silence. saturday I had swept the deck on that part of the house. now it is covered in pine bark mulch !
I have a photo of the tree from last winter, if this url will work..
http://community.webshots.com/scripts/e ... zOQoBtrTpL
the tree is right there by the corner.

That sounds amazing OB1, what a storm!!

We were at my daughters softball game tonight, everything was fine, cold and a little windy, when all of a sudden, out of the blew the wind picked up and just started howling and it was freezing and raining and everything was blowing away, the blankets and the chairs and the girls!! They were screaming and running around and we all tryed like hell to get back to our cars. My youngest daughter fell in the mud and was crying, the wind blowing her away, whew, another crazy night.

No storms here. Hooray!!!!

Personally, I'm tired of Winter. In fact, I was tired of it back in October. Glad Spring has finally sprung here in Northern Nv. Now, I can only hope it stays. However, knowing this area, we will get 1 or 2 more cool spells before it's all said and done. Oh well, I'll enjoy the 70 degree weather while it lasts.

TVM, anxiously awaiting STAR WARS. I'm seeing it Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon.

Right now, I'm watching NBA action.

OB1,sorry to hear about all of that. That so sucks!!!.And a very happy, belated birthday. I hope that day was better than the day you had with all this calmity. Forgive me if I`m late with my wishes. I`ve been dealing with a full plate, not meat and potatoes either.
TVM, I`m wondering what motivates people; Recently,my car was key- scratched on the driver`s side door by some miserable person. Deep scratches. The car is relatively new and i guess this person,if you could call it that, decided to utilize it`s creativity the best way it could. I discovered this after the fact. My brother commented that I was awfully calm about it. What am I going to do? Jump up and down and scream. It`s well after the fact. Now if I caught that person in the act, yours truly would have scratched it`s eyes out with that very same set of keys it was using. Of course, you would never see me on this site again. I`d be doing time in Riker`s Island(famous NYC
Prison).
My mom fell down off the side steps of the house today. Of course,I was working. I`m sure she was lifting things as she was descending. She`s bruised and limping: I`m urging her to go see a doctor, since she feel on her bad ankle( she broke it 12 years ago and still has the plates and screws in place. Well,at least I hope they are.) She is very stubborn and never asks for help. I was really angry with her becaus e she can be careless and she is always pushing herself. Well I can be stubborn like that too. We have this stupid pride in our family where we hate to ask for help. It must be done ourselves. I Offered to call in tomorrow and take her to the doctor`s but she insisted it will get better with rest. Screw Fed Ex. If I had to call in and received a rash of shit about this, they can stick this job up their assholes. Then again, their heads are up their asses so I have to find another place.

Stout, sorry to hear about your mom. OB1, hope you and yours recover from the storm. Jo, glad your kid and hubby are OK. Altair, I have a room available anytime you want to get away from winter; it's already summer here.

I wasn't sure if I was should post this because I can't quite believe it's true yet.

Y'all know about the trouble I've been having at work - at least what I've posted here, which isn't the half of it.

Today the supervisor sends me a message saying she needs to see me out back. I make a comment to my friend Paula that I'm going to get my ass chewed again. Paula gets this big grin on her face. Being perceptive, I say to her, "You know something." And she grins bigger. Interesting.

So I go out back and the supervisor says she's been talking to her supervisor. Great. I'm thinking I'm in the shit for sure.

Then she says, "Well, we've all been talking and ... we've decided you should be a training officer. You get your first trainee on May 27. Congratulations." Turns out Paula was running her mouth, saying how she thought I deserved the position, and one of the trainees had told the department supervisor she wanted me to be her training officer. How different, to be gossiped about in a good way.

What a letdown, though. I was all psyched up for that ass chewing!

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom Stout, my goodness we have all been having some tough luck lately, except PC, wow, congratulations, so good to hear that!

As for summer, I hope it comes soon, because I can't take this coldness anymore, if I had my way I would move south anyway, I hate the winter.

Right now I am supposed to be working on this house as we are having 2 familys stay over for the weekend, but instead I am on the talk again, and I can't seem to get off.

TVM,it`s a pleaure to be back. These last few months have been an emotional meatgrinder for mre,but posting here does help.
Changer,YesJo; Thanks for asking about my mom. She`s fine now. It was scary at first since that was her bad anke, but she elevated and rested it for a bit. I wish she would stay off her feet some more, but she is stubborn and tough as nails. they don`t make them like that anymore. Definitely old school.
And N2,Changer; Thanks for always trying to keep me around here. You two know how I feel about the both of ya.

TVM I'm bushed. Another training officer on my shift had to take emergency leave so I wound up with her trainee. Got the newbie talking on the radio and everything; one of the deputy training officers said she sounded good. I can't take credit for that but I made sure she knew about it.

And I'm stunned that someone else on this board is going to the Florida show!

That's all right, the room will be ready when Renato finishes the Fragile mural and Simon gathers up his gas money. At this rate I figure both those events will happen around the same time.

Not like Rick and Bruford weren't already here, at least in my dreams ... oh yeah, and Jon did the beer run, so he even knows how to find his way back. Y'all probably thought I was full of shit when I told you about that dream but here I had a premonition that Rick was coming back to the band.

(P.S. Bruford finally let me have my computer back!)

TVM,I`m getting over overhanging idiots who insist on raping the `Stout'.
This afternoon after taking a psychological exam for a prospective job,my workplace calls me and decides to switch my schedule next week. No big deal. But then they start getting on me for going over 60hrs(US Dept. of Transportation rules stipulate that you cannot go over 60 hrs. Illegal.) `You were sent messages to get off the clock. You were told to be off by a certain time.' Hey,I`m not the one who wants to work all these hours. You are the ones who schedule me for all of this. `But you didn`t take a full hour break on Thursday.' (Another violation).`Look,I got slammed with oncall pickups that day.And I asked for help and never got any. Do you think I love working 12 hrs without a break.'
The district manager is all over my managers for this. Frankly,I don`t think they really give a shit whether I violated DOT regulations or never got a break in during that particular day. They are worried about me breaking their bank. Hey,I`m being a good little boy and doing what I`m told. But I`m sure I`ll here about this nonsense on Monday. I might get written up for it. Big whoop. It`s happened before. You become immune to it after a while. You see,you can do ten million good things and never see any credit for it. But one thing goes wrong and OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I`m sure you all heard the expression; Ten `atta boys' aren`t equal to one `Ahhhh,Shit!!! Even on my off days,I`m not safe.
I`m also trying to get over the 300 post line. I`m having trouble. The `Stout' well is running dry ,quickly. Then again ,when you deal with overhanging idiots,it`s natural for your brain to become sizzled

At this very moment, I'm thinking Stout needs a new job . . .

Also, I'm watching something very weird . . . Can cats turn lesbian? Lulubelle has actually mounted and is attempting to hump the other female cat . . .

Listening to "Watcher of the Skies," and thinking about an omelet with blue cheese crumbles and green peppers. I could also fry up some diced potatos in the other skillet . . . Damn, I'm out of bread! Anyone got some fresh sourdough?

Sheesh, and to think my male and female cats have only tried to hump each other over the timespan of their lives ... and they don't masturbate ... though the female is quite public about cleaning herself, ahem ...

TVM, I'm feeling like I'm 75% over the virus I've been fighting for four days. It never got really bad, but it did take too much of my energy to fight it. I was good and drank a ton of water, lemon, grapefruit, and rested all weekend. At work today I fell asleep twice, just little power naps.

Magnification is on the stereo, now, and the cats are relatively happy.

Jack,I really do hope you are feeling better my friend.
TVM,I`m just relaxing and catching up on posting.
Since we seem to be on the subject of pets,is it natural for a dog to lick it`s own shit??? The other day,I`m at my girl`s house and her dog is maltese. Basically,a house dog. She decides to take a dump on the paper and after discharging that load, she decides to eat it. I was really skeeved and grossed out. I told my girl about this since she was was getting dressed at the time, and she stated the dog has done it before. She didn`t want to mention it to me because the dog is always trying to lick people and I hate when she licks. You don`t know where that tongue has been. But now I know one place.
I told my girl to make sure she washes her face after having her dog lick her all up. Just because I may talk shit doesn`t mean I want to be covered in it.
I had a German Shephard a few years back. She never did that. I guess you see something new everyday.

TVM--

I am dubbing one of our local radio stations (KBIG, which I wouldn't normally listen to) for a tape trade...
Why would I be taping a radio station I don't listen to? Well...I've gotten involved in trading airchecks (radio tapes, more or less) over the past year, mostly to get tapes from the great rock stations of days gone by (WNEW, KMET etc). I've actually gotten a few from the 70s with decent Yes/prog content!!

Dogs can be really weird Stout, my dogs thankfully don't eat poop but one eats paper towels and tissues and toilet paper all the time. I'll catch him and he looks and me guilty and tries to walk away. What is that? I hate dogs that eat poop, it's disgusting and they have bad breath.

I am trying to figure out why it's still so damn cold and when is it going to warm up.

Locked
