The Spirit of Survival
Some of you already know that I won't be seeing YES this summer. Their not playing anywhere near me, and it's just not feasable for my husband and I to both take off work to go somewhere overnight to see them.
Since May 8th when I saw the tour dates I have been upset about it and in an all around pissy mood. Every time I've listened to Yes, all I could think was "I'm NOT going to see them do this song this summer", and "How can I hang out at YesTalk when almost everyone there will be going to see them", I felt like I was ruined!
Today I was listening to In the Presence Of while waiting for my daughter to get off of school,it had been cloudy and thunderstorming all day, when it gets to the part towards the end and he sings "If we were flowers we would worship the sun", the sun came out and shined through the sun roof on my car, into my face. I can't even put into words how I felt. I do know I no longer feel as pissy about not getting to see them this summer, and by hanging out here at YesTalk I can live vicariously thru you guys as you post your reviews of their shows. (Especially if the reviews are like Eds of Radio City last year)
I'm really fortunate to have the people at YesTalk do this for me.
I hope I posted this in the correct thread, since it was about the tour I assumed it should go here.

Yesmam, join us in the suffering that is living in a place where Yes don't always play, snall places like the UK and Europe for example.
But then be happy because compared to say a Yes fan in Australia we're doing pretty damn well.
Simon.

I think most of us fans have a story (or more) about Yes skipping certain areas for tours, but I've noticed they usually make up for it later. My point is, you will be all the more excited when they do come to your local venue. Till then, we'll keep you entertained.

Don't feel bad, YM! If you were meant to be down, where would I be?
Remember, better days always come.

Thanks everyone! I do know that there are others in my boat, so we can bemoan the fact that we won't be seeing YES together. I guess I should count my blessings, because I HAVE seen them 4 times in the past. But DAMN, I wanted to see them do Mag and In the Presence Of!!!!!!!!

Yesmam,
So sorry for you, Yesmam! That is how I felt when I wasn't able to see them last year! They didn't come anywhere near my city, and finances just wouldn't allow a long trip. I vowed that even if they didn't come through here again this year, I would save to travel to where ever closest. Well, we will have to travel at least 8 hours to Denver this year! This time I just HAVE to go! My husband remembers my mood from last year and isn't ABOUT to argue with me!
Just remember, you are not alone! There are others here who will not see them either this time around. Last year I just read all the great reviews here at Yestalk and Yesworld! I really did enjoy doing just that alone! Sure, it's not the same as being there; but for some brief moments I DID imagine it! Also, remember, the concert DVD is coming out! It's just about the NEXT best thing to the real thing!
