Tour **Spoiler** and 3 CD Live Boxset
According to a recent radio interview (www.twistedradio.com) Alan says Yes will play On The Silent Wings of Freedom. He says Steve really pressed for this one. Could To Be Over be far behind? Let's pray they play both of these. Alan also mentions Yes putting out a 3 CD Live Boxset next year. Hopefully this will be archival material. I urge everyone to start letting Yes know what you want on the Live Boxset if it ever comes to fruition. A complete Moraz show would be great as well as a complete Topographic show in my opinion....chris

I agree to your points!
TO BE OVER is a wonderful, peaceful piece of music with a simple, but magnificent keyboard part towards the end (I used this as title theme for my radio-play DIE UNDENDLICHE GESCHICHTE / The Neverending Story, that I produced during the early eighties with friends from school,).
Pieces from TORMATO really do stand out of the usual YES music (even more than the pieces from DRAMA do) in my opinion. They are so compact in sound ... and yet filigrane if you listen a little closer!
So I'm very open to putting ON THE SILENT WINGS OF FREEDOM (and others, beyond DON'T KILL THE WHALE) to the schedule of the concerts.
There's nothing to say against the all-time-classic standards like CLOSE TO THE EDGE included in every live show. But I also vote to give those tracks a chance that have been seldomly heard live. I was more than thrilled when I first heard TURN OF THE CENTURY on KEYS TO ASCENSION.
So: more of the leftouts, please!!
Bye,
Ra

C&C, I and I'm sure others appreciate your contribution here ( it is really good news, especially for us Tormato fans )but, I think this one probably should fall under Chris' jurisdiction in the Concert forum. Let's leave it here for today but I will need to move it soon. Be sure to look for it there.

Well that's one of my never seen live yet but really want to see list taken care of, or at least it would be if they were coming to the UK! Still, it's a great sign if this comes true and they do mix it up a bit with some of the lesser known songs.
The box set sounds great too and might make up for some of the disappointment that some of you guys have been expressing with the In A Word set.
Simon.

I would love to know in advance! The pleasure will still be there, for me, as the concert unfolds.
I don't need no stinkin' surprises!

Beauty, eh! I want to know also.
Thanks CoinsAndCrosses for the link. I thing OTSWOF would be a fun opening tune. It has power and a drive behind it to get the crowd pumped up. Chances of it being the opener...3%?

I never should have opened my mouth on this one so soon, it was dumb.
It's WAY too early to announce the set. If the band wanted it public, it'd be posted on Yesworld. I'd hate for them to get pissed off and send Trevor over here to teach me a lesson :)
Also, now that I look again, I only have 2 hours of music on my list, so I might not know every last tune.
I will say that Alan wasn't lying in that interview. And Coins mentioned another tune in the opening message, that one is on the list too. Now if THAT isn't BIG BIG news, I don't know what is.
'nuff said for a while.

[green]So far so good . . .
I don't know where to begin . . . but I suspect the list Ed has is preliminary, and will go through some "changes," to coin a phrase. The last few tours have not been completely planned out until the last moment, and I suspect suprises in store . . .
Uhm, I might start a new topic on the whole "spoiler" thing. I really like being appraised of the whole set list, although some like suprises. I spilled some beans on AH for the Masterworks tour, and Ed was mightily upset. If he doesn't like spoilers, I'm suprised he found them before I did . . .

Aside from the fact that they often play a tune or two at the beginning of a tour and then drop it, I suspect that the set list I have is a bit more than "preliminary"

I don't remember this. If I was unhappy about any spoiler info, I'm sure it was just because there wasn't any warning. We've ALWAYS had spoilers.

I'm going to be really pissed if they drop Silent Wings after a couple of shows. Just for the record.

My guess is that Silent Wings will stay in the setlist as Squire's solo spot. I know they rehearsed Tempus Fugit last year but I bet Jon's not crazy about doing it, especially with Rick back in the band. I pray they don't drag out The Fish again. That one's been done to death.
When I saw Silent Wings done in the round at a 1978 Madison Square Garden show, Chris took over the stage and the boys did an incredible job on this piece. If this year's version is even half as good, you're all in for a real treat.
