Hello again
Out of the blue I get an email saying the site is back up and running.
So hello to all my old friends.

Re: Hello again
Hello to you as well!
I did not get a mail.
By chance I tried the adress to see if the files were still being backed up,
as was the message for years when I tried to go here.
Wouldn't it be nice if we can get Yestalk to be what it was during the glory days.
Seems like one by one the old gang find its way back here!

Re: Hello again
A trickle at the moment. I too checked by chance aas someone mentioned a few of the regulars are on Facebook. I use that very little and haven't found a way to track them down. May be a good avenue to spread the word.
I hope we'll see more actvity once the album is out in the wild. 'Believe Again' is beginning to grow on me - I think I prefer the snippet of 'The Game' that's up on Yesworld. So far it doesn't seem the step forward from FFH I was hoping for, but perhaps it's a premature judgment.

Re: Hello again
Good to see so many familiar names from a few years ago here. I noticed the site is back up and I'm very glad about it. I am still a fan and had tickets to see Yes in 2008 in Dallas, Texas USA but the show canceled when Chris Squire had an illness. Fond memories of tardistraveler, Roan's Lady and all the guys who are musicians here. I still play the fiddle in Austin, Texas and have the same day job for 15 years and ended up single again when a long and decent marriage came to a friendly end last year. First Yes concert was the Solos Tour/crab nebula (1975?) and the last one was 2002, with 10 in all plus GTR and Asia. One of my favorite topics is Yes concert videos.
Best wishes to all of you, and hope to see you around here some as new ond old YesTalkers join the site. Mike

Re: Hello again
Just happened to click on the Yestalk link I had bookmarked just out of curiosity and low and behold.. I then contacted Tardistraveler who sent me to Ed who helped get my password straightened out.. Will have to spend a few minutes checking things out to see just where things were when I last visited..

Wow. I didn't know this place was still up. I've checked back over the years and it never seemed to work. Now all of the sudden a new forum and such. Neat-O. Hi everyone.

(echoing) ...lllllooooooooo.........
It is slow.
Too few members have found their way back.
Too few know we are back.
Who knows where they are drifting off to.
The word needs to be spread!
We need to infest other social media where they may lurk and pull them back into the light!

Anyone on Facebook? I don't use it, but I heard it suggested it may be a way to get in touch with some of the old faces from here. I'm sure lots of people don't know it's back up. Withering on the vine a little at the mo.

I did send a message to N2 on his user PM. Don't know if he actually is aware that we are back.
Ah well, it's been fpour years. People can get far away in that time.

Sparadis is apparently a beauty spa on the Champs-Elysée. I have no idea what the treatment using tray dogs might entail - I'm trying not to think about it.guilddigger wrote:And I swear I sparadis tray dog.

iOS 8 is bringing up a few unwelcome howlers for me though, so perhaps the canine angle is a running theme?

Re: Hello again
That is pretty amazing. Spell something wrong (or be surprised by the spellcheck) and you can be sure the word does exist and has a meaning some language.
Since swedish is also a germanic language and about half our vocabulary was imported from german immigrants in the 13th century we have this joke about german language.
If you don't know a certain german word, make one up. If it sounds silly but german enough it's probably the correct word.

Re: Hello again
Or just string a few words together. Got to love those germancompoundlinkmeaningwords. Trouble is fitting them to one line.

Re: Hello again
Sorry - I've been out of pocket for some time and just got Ed to reset my password this morning. It's good to see the familiar folks here, even if it's been a while since some of you posted.
Much of my time has been spent job-hunting, since I was laid off from the State after 29 years back in June. Current governor has no heart . . .
I did luck into a program that spends WIA dollars on training, so I'm starting C# classes next week to work towards the Microsoft certification in same. Wish me luck if you see this - hope it turns into work since the unemployment runs out at the end of December! I'm considering going back to substitute teaching in the interim - I've had no luck with temp agencies or anything.
If Ed wanted to put up a Facebook page for Yestalk, then those of us who are over there could share it? Maybe some of the old regulars would see it.

Did Yestalk just die again?
Re: Hello again
Unfortunately Tom, since its resurrection I'm not sure it's got beyond being anything but a spluttering basket-case.
It's a real shame because I think that at its peak it easily outclassed any similar board for substantial dialogue.
I'm at a loss for how we administer CPR.

Seems to me discussions on "other" sites pale in comparison to what I experienced here..
Has the announcement of the new Yes live recordings sparked new interest in the band?
I'm starting to hear the "No Bruford No Yes" rumblings.. for me personally I would have been more interested in a mix
of the Bruford line up and a cleaned up version of Yessongs..
