Boot Chain, Anyone?
I first discovered the wonders of the boot chain when my fledgling Yes collection was pretty minimal, and SO much appreciated the fact that people were willing to share their stash with the rest of us!
Now, my Yes collection is overflowing, and I'd like to do the same.
So, if there's interest, please post here, and let me know what type of chain I should start.
- A general collection of Yes through the years - 1969 - 2004?
- A particular era? And if so, which one?
- A particular tour?
- Yes solo efforts?
Post your thoughts here! If there's enough interest we'll get this started!

It occurred to me that new members might not realize what a "boot chain" is.
Basically, someone with a lot of shows makes copies of those shows. People who want copies of those shows sign up for the "chain".
The originator of the chain organizes a list of people wanting to participate, and sends the shows to the first person on the list. That person copies any of the shows they want, and then sends them on to the next person on the list, and so on until the last person receives the shows. Being the last person, that person lucks out and gets to "keep" the shows . . .

I don't understand the reticence either Diane. It's a very kind offer (I say that as one who knows the trouble it can take to organise weeds ha ha).
Come on people. Here is a chance to get hold of some Yes show CDs from tours way back when. There's some fantastic stuff out there: good recordings of the whole of Tales live, the solo album tour at Roosevelt 1976 (oh Yes!), Going for the One live, the In the ROund tour - right through to Talk live (when the album finally WORKED for me). One of the best tours ever.
There's something like 650+ Yes shows out there and some of them are fanBLODDYtastic.

Hi Tardistraveler I am new to this board but recognize you from the yesfans forum. I would love to get in on this offer, I have about 25 shows but can always use more. I would be particularly interested in the Drama era due to the fact that I have none. I will however fall in line with what ever the general concensus is.

Regarding artwork - I don't have any particular resources for artwork. Some of the shows I have came with such, some did not. You might just do some searching on "bootleg artwork" or the like, and see if you come up with anything on the sites.
Those shows for which I DO have artwork, I'll include on a disc with the boot chain.
So, it looks like we have several people who are interested. Looks like I'll do a "Yes through the years" chain, with some extra from Tales/Drama tours.
If you're definitely interested, I need you to send me a PM with your name and mailing address. I'll wait a week or so to see how many sign up, and then I'll start the chain!

Hi,
This is a pretty good opportunity, so I won't miss it.
Could I add my name to the chan and also 2 or 3 shows to the list?
I am desperately looking for the following:
Yes - "DOWN AT THE END" SAN FRANCISCO WINTERLAND THEATER - 10 MAR 1972
Yes - LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA - 22 JUL 1975
Yes - MONTERREY, MEXICO - 22 SEP 2004
If you could help with any of the above, I'd be very grateful.
Many thanks!

Just in case anyone is hesitating getting involved in this....DON'T HESITATE.
I got involved in a couple of these chains a few years ago, and now I have more live Yes music than I could possibly ever listen to. I'm pretty sure that I have at least 1 show from every tour.
All you need is the ability to rip the music from the discs you get and then pass them on to the next person. Your Yes collection will expand considerably in no time at all.

Deadline Extension
Well, I didn't get to organize the shows for the chain this past weekend, so I'm extending the deadline on this one til Saturday, 4/15.
PM me with a mailing address if you're interested in this one . . . I'm sure there will be some interesting "goodies" in the batch!

Hey Tardis,
I would like to see a boot chain devoted solely to the Rabin years. I have quite a few boots but don't have a lot from the 90125, Big Generator and Talk Tours.
A boot chain highlighting these shows (preferably Soundboard shows) would be great...chris

Well, the bad news is - I haven't put this together yet - had house stuff going on all last weekend - new appliances delivered and the like.
The GOOD news is - this is still open! Looks like there's quite a few interested. I've decided since the interests are diverse that I'll do a "Yes through the years" type-chain, with special emphasis on the tours that people have specifically mentioned. Hope that works for everyone.
If you're interested, and haven't sent me a mailing address yet, please PM me with yours . . .

I have a couple of those shows at home, but I'm not looking for a trade. I'll do a B&P for you if you like, though. Don't take this the wrong way, but looking at your list, they're mostly "Highland Records" type boots where there are better, lower-gen versions out there or re-masters that have smoothened the listening experience.
All that being said, I'm at work now and don't have my list handy but a couple of those dates look familiar 3/18/74, 11/24/71, 8/14/72. I know I have 3/8 through 3/10/73, but I don't remember if I have 3/12/73. Anyway, if you want a B&P, let me know and I'll verify which ones I have or don't have.
